The Dance of Life's Melody

In my view, reality is complex and multifaceted. Hardly does anything go out as planned and we spend most of our time reacting/responding to what life throws our away instead of just initiating something that isn't born from a reaction or response.

Perhaps, this is how we actually move forward, by repaying debts that we owed in the past. Perhaps not.

Life can be unforgiving. Although, we can learn from our mistakes, we can't undo them. There's this phenomenon called the law of cause and effect.

Anything we do, comes back to us in one way or another. Now, mistakes are usually unintentional, yet it is an act that's already done.

Part of the dilemma of life is we don't always know the consequences of our actions. We create a cause with a particular intented effect in mind.

But somehow, between this journey from cause to effect, something(s) happens and the effect itself becomes different from the intended effect. It goes back to not having anything work out as planned.

Of course, one could say this something that happened is life, in that life happens to get in the way between cause and effect, since it is the host, so to speak, of our experiences. You can't expect to swim in the ocean and not be pulled by its current.

One could also argue that if almost everything goes out as planned, then life may cease to be interesting or exciting.

This is true. A large part of life's excitement comes from the unexpected turns and challenges we face.

There would be no surprises, no opportunities to learn and grow from adversity, and no sense of accomplishment in overcoming obstacles If everything we do went according to plan.

Still, I can't help but wonder what dance we can learn between planning our steps and embracing the unexpected turns of life's melody.

Metaphorically, this is seemingly about finding a balance between planning and accepting the unexpected.

"Planning our steps" represents the proactive approach, while "embracing the unexpected turns" signifies the reactive approach. There's a constant back and forth between both approaches similar to the succession between day and night.

"Life's melody" portrays life's journey as a song with its own rhythm and flow. Dancing to this melody implies navigating life's unpredictable nature with both intention and adaptability. The rhythm and flow will keep on changing, but the intentionality to dance ought not be lost.
