Definitely a fascinating aspect of nature that I love observing whenever it happens. The suspense between the lightning strike and the thunder clap is everything lol. Sometimes and just for the fun of it, I try to determine how loud the thunder clap will be based on the intensity of the lightning strike. 8 times out of 10, it always correlates, higher intensity brings about a louder thunder clap.

Oh for sure! I love trying to figure out how loud the thunder is! Sadly where I live, the thunder isn't always that great. It's very muted and rumbly. Only a few times have I really heard an insane CRACK meaning it was really close. I enjoy it.. but it would be way cooler if I heard the super loud shit a bit more lol
Haha, haven't experienced one that close enough too, except sometimes the vertical ones can give me the impression that it's right above my head but very far high in the sky. The horizontal ones though are mostly seen from a far lol.
