Privacy Could Be A 3D Illusion
Sometimes, it just happens that I have to stare hard and unintensively on the ceiling which happens to be pictured as a blank canvas ready to be filled with fresh ideas.
Between doing a quick sketch of a subjective impression of an object or crafting out an elaborate strategic plan, it can take quite a while before my awareness shifts out of that state of mind.
A state of mind characterized by an inherent ability to think without really thinking, if you know what I mean.
In that state of mind, this relatively large black canvas is transparent, so it lacks a sense of concreteness like all subjective realities projected onto objective reality.
It seems a bit like I’m looking through the ceiling rather than at it, bypassing the physical barrier to see the concepts floating behind it.
Just made sense
As of late, I've brushed paths with 4D materials across the interwebs, this is a bit of the superficially broad kind as the author of the content was mentioning that in 4D, transparency is perceived across 3D places, say, one can see through a wall, as a basic example, when in 4D looking at 3D places.
I found myself nodding in agreement even though I couldn't really tell the validity of that statement.
I guess it just made sense and have read in different other places the fluidity of 4D where time and distance takes on a different meaning compared to 3D.
Of course, time/distance being different doesn't seem to relate with having a transparent view of any 3D area one decides to gaze at. But the logic does holds up if you step down a dimension.
Just as we, from our 3D vantage point, can look down at a 2D drawing on a desk and see the "insides" of a drawn square without cutting the paper, a 4D observer would view our 3D world from an angle strictly perpendicular to our reality.
And to them, our sealed rooms are as open and exposed as a floor plan is to an architect.

Image generated via Gemini AI, not bad but it didn't really get the first part correctly, in a way!
New questions
I think altogether the lack of solid-ness is what makes all three possible to discern, which opens the box for a complete re-evaluation of "interior" and "exterior."
Now, I do have a ton of new questions about the fourth dimension, apart from what does it really mean in an objective sense?
For one, a rather trivial question is with regards to privacy, I mean, if a 4D entity can view the interior of my home as easily as I view the interior of an open box, does the concept of "private space" even exist?
Secondly, what does this do to our perception of simultaneousness?
In 3D, I can see the front of your face, but the back of your head is hidden.
Stepping onto 4D, because that transparency applies to the whole object, one would theoretically perceive the front, the back, and the internal structure of a person all at the same exact moment, which also suggests a kind of "hyper-vision" where nothing can be hidden behind anything else, making the concept of secrets physically impossible.
So, if anyone in the fourth dimension is looking over my shoulder right now, do me a favor: don't judge the clutter in my living room, and the ones in my mind too!
