Just Random Observations
Push and pull. There's a forever tension, usually between two sides and within the same point of origin, like how a door hinges on stillness to swing between open and shut.
Sometimes the third party making it three sides is when an external element enters the system.
To get a bit into color theory, the fact that yellow and blue combined together gives a green color and green also pre-exists naturally as its own primary truth in the world is quite a revealing thing to me in terms of how synthesis doesn't erase independence. Things can be born from combination and also just... be. No explanation needed.
Black is an absence of light, or maybe fullness, depending on whether you're talking about pigment or screens while white contains all other colors, or nothing, same caveat, it is said.
I think the dynamic here of colors interacting with and against each other is a mini rehearsal of sorts for life situations/phases. Trying to figure out what's essential versus accumulated via mixing and separating or is it the other way round?
If white and black are two extreme sides of the color spectrum, then they can be equated here with wakefulness and non-wakefulness, the former being the most alive phases we claim to value and the latter least alive we pretend doesn't matter, which in this case can be labeled as sleep. Though honestly and personally, sleep feels more alive than the performance of being awake. Sometimes dreams do more than days.
Writing "most alive phases", my mind is trying to recall the last time I recognize myself as most alive and instead of just quickly finding one that comes to the surface, it's busy trying to subjectify what most alive means.
I mean, isn't it the universal feeling of being on top of the world while simultaneously feeling as light as a feather?
Forget it. The second point is most of life exists somewhere in between two extremes and the tension is more so a function of existing as a person than any other narrative that's usually ascribed to it, the most common one is conflict for me.
There's a lesson in most conflict resolutions ending as temporary equilibriums that shift the moment conditions change.
Life itself is dynamic and in dynamic systems, there are no permanent solutions. This just goes against the very fabric of our narrative instinct.
We call it struggle, growth, journey, when really it's basically existing in the middle distance. Neither here nor there. It's Tuesday. It's breakfast. It's the long walk where nothing happens except you keep walking then something happens and before you start getting excited about that, nothing happens again and so you learn to expect nothing, which is its own something.
I guess a real unfluffy point is stability is just a slower rate of falling and tension is structural in every living thing that exists. Two real unfluffy points to be exact.
