CHRISTMAS FOR ME AS A CHILD

I get that time makes things all the more fun, especially because of better experiences and diversity in ways to get all thw fun out of life.
Still, I feel like kids get to enjoy the Christmas and all the festivities that it comes with far more than the elderly.

They may not accurately tell the reason for the season except the "it's the celebration of Christ's birth" buy they're far more hyper-excited and merry towards the season.

Growing up, I loved Christmas, as all kids did. I still very well do. Asides the fact that it's a holiday, which meant break from school, the season also meant getting new clothes. Usually my parents got clothes for us other times in the year but this particular one was special and very looked forward to among kids. It was always a thing of joy that we get to all get and wear new attires all on same day. In addition, we got a new pair of shoes, wristwatch and fancy kids glasses.

It also meant travelling to be with relatives and to get to tour the community. This was a lot then. My hometown - it's a load of activity; meeting up with family, dining together, digging into nice delicacies and getting a good piece of chicken, going to farms and streams to fetch some water or bathe, going to the field to watch or play football, eating different delicacies, having to do little to no work because our aunts and uncles wouldn't let us do anything but merry and also getting to recieve cash gifts.

It meant playing with fireworks. Christmas is the only time in the year we had that liberty. It meant freedom to eat, sleep, wake, and do literally everything I wished to, whenever I wanted. Being in the city of our residence all through the year didn't afford us that much freedom.
Christmas meant being together with all of my cousins and relatives I hadn't seen in so long and just vibing, bonding and enjoying every moment.
It meant preminum fun. And I loved it.
