A HOLIDAY RECAP

Hello, Hello, amazing people.
Hello, @terganftp
It's been just about a week but it feels like it's been months. How are you all doing? The holidays too, how's it going?

Over here in Nigeria, the Christmas holidays are known for all the preparations, light decorations, street carnivals, parties and festivity involving making nice delicacies not really common to the rest of the year.

For this purpose, you see that the roads get extremely busy with traffic due to people heading in different directions especially to their parent's houses and villages to reunite and have the fun with family members. You get to see that human population in the cities thin out. The markets get crowded from people shopping for food items and wears. It is serious business over here. Christmas had to be the business, most enjoyment/drama packed time of the year.

Against my earlier belief and submission that I would be spending the holiday with my family, that didn't happen. I couldn't make that travel. I stayed back at my base owing to circumstances whose information I rather would withhold but which were rather reasonable.

Still, my holiday didn't go so bad.
Spent far away from home and this as I record, has to be my first holiday celebration away from family. It felt a little different. Wasn't bland, but odd, hope you get how I mean.

I watched the streets dry out as people travelled back, as i assume, to go have the time with their various families. The environment grew calmer and just when it began to look like it was going to be boring and I had made the mistake of choosing to stay back, my friends from long ago(as far back as university) who like me had no plans for travel, agreed it was perfect timing for a meet up and to hang out for the season. I met the suggestion with gladness.

A day to Christmas, I went over to my friend's place, our other friend came by too. On Christmas morning, we went out to get stuff to prepare food with. We got drinks too.
Back at my friend's place, we prepped the food items and one of us made the meal which we enjoyed with the drinks. too. The day was spent indoors. Just the three of us. Nothing loud. Just guys catching up.

There was lots to eat since we shopped snacks too. We played video games, we had fun recalling memories from way back, we chatted about diverse topics especially sports.
My friend who recently ventured into photography tried out his newly bought camera by taking a picture of me in his makeshift studio. There wasn't much else to do but every moment that day was worth it. I imagined what it would have been like if i had to be by myself that whole day.

As you would not expect, I had to work too. Maybe you can consider this the downside of working at a remote job. I did what I could. Tried to not let the job override the day.

I may have missed being with my parents, siblings, relatives, I may have missed all of the family fun and bonding moments, but that's fine. I'm happy we all are well enough to enjoy the holiday as we have.
It was a good celebration all the same.
