Indiaunited Contest: Prioritizing On Needs My Approach Towards 2026 Savings
Happy new year once again community and beautiful friends here 🥰💕.
The question for this week’s contest is “How Do You Save Your Money?”
Who will want to miss out on this kind of question when it involves money and how to save? Although one question that kept me reflecting back to 2025, on how its one hectic year with lots of inflation and huge expenses that made my saving plans unachievable .
But who knows what 2026 will bring, especially in anticipation of new openings and happenings that can enable one run into luck as the year unfolds and which in turn can actually help in removing and keeping part of the money we earned through salaries, commissions , wages and so on which is what savings put together simply means.
And as one who does not earn salary nor wages but commissions as a Realtor, my plans towards saving this year is to practically cut down on extra expenses and concentrate full on the things called “Needs”. These are basic items and services that I deemed necessary, as this will help me pay more attention in saving the extra money towards the goals I have for 2026.
As a commission earner through renting and letting of houses, land sales that comes once in a while and other apartments services, I do not have a specific fixed monthly savings, but saves according to how work happens and how income rolls, so am going to be paying attention on expenses for this year because the inflation is still rolling around, making cost 💲 of items still high .
So this year am going to be working with the ever known Law Of Economics - “Scale Of Preference And Opportunity Cost”. This is the oldest law ever known that was established by an Economist. This Law teaches us on how we have to live through our means. In other words, you need to spend according to how you earn to avoid going into debt or borrowing money 💰 here and there. The only truth to this law being that we should always put out a list of items we need down and from this list select the most important ones which should be “Needs”?and not “Wants”. The items we selected as needs becomes our priorities and preferences because they are the most important. The items that fails under “wants” becomes secondary list.
This approach is my go strategy towards savings in this 2026. I feel that this approach will help me concentrate mostly on basics like foods, electricity, gas, house rents, children school fees , repairs and unforeseen. These I feel are unavoidable that fails under priorities. Luxurious items like clothing, shoes, hairs perfumes and more will be in my pending list as I watch on how the year will roll.
We can not believe how spending money on trending items could incur expenses for us until we begin to calculate them one by one. And this most times rips us off with we knowing. And since I have pending goals from 2025, am going to make sure to achieve them through God’s willingness. And this is why I must pay attention to income and expenditure to avoid deficits.
Thanks for visiting friends . Join this contest #here.

Scale preference is a good one not bad at all, it can come in handy when wanting to save.
