Hard work in all areas of life is something that should always be rewarded because by rewarding hard work, motivation comes from it. But the world 🌎 does not take this into consideration and that is why people take the fast and short cuts to achieve and thrive.

Brilliancy is hard work, although some pupils or students are naturally gifted with being brilliant academically either they inherited from parents or because they study and has flair than their peers. But in which ever way , I strongly believe that pupils or students with good academic performance should be rewarded as this will bring lots of motivation and encouragement.

Who Should Be Rewarded:

Although this debate here has its advantage and disadvantage considering what it will result to after awhile since the world 🌎 is a place that keeps looking for the fastest way out. We should first consider those that will be rewarded and how to fish 🐠 them out. This is by having a body to select those who performed well as pupils or students and make them seat for another examination from what they have been taught, because many will want to go to the extent of cheating in class, involving in examination malpractice and even parents involving with teachers as to secure a spot for their wards and children . Those who performed excellently after the selected body examination are the ones to be rewarded.

How Will This Be Achieved :

Brilliant pupils or students are those who have maintained the 1st to 10th position in classes which runs concurrently for about three (3) terms. This group of students keeps maintaining this position as each term comes and pass. These set of students are the ones to be re-examined by setting some kind of questions from their syllabus. If each and everyone of them maintained their position after the re-examination, they are the ones that should be rewarded to motivate them more. Any student who could not maintain his/her mark must have been in examination malpractices

We have what is called “Bad Eggs 🥚 “ in all areas of life. The bad eggs are those who behave badly naturally, using their bad attitude to affect others. But in situations of this kind, a brilliant pupil or student will always stand out because brilliancy does not just start over night. Its a long accumulated efforts which students put in their academic determination believing in a great future through it all .

What Kind Of Academic Reward:

Although some students would have preferred cash rewards since they believe it could help pay their school fees, purchase their textbooks and settle other levies, but I feel giving Scholarships to students is the best way to reward them since all they needed is just to continue attending school 🏫 without having problems of any kind since the scholarship covers all payments. Scholarship will will also make a pupil or student 👩‍🎓 have a focus knowing fully well his/her parents are no more involved in looking for school fees to pay.

In conclusion, there is big gap between the poor and the rich especially here in my country Nigeria 🇳🇬. Scholarship is one thing that will help most pupil 👩‍🎓 from a poor background starting from those who are brilliant, whose parents struggle to pay their school fees. Most of these group of students sometimes ends up staying out of school for weeks because of how their parents are struggling to rise school fees before they finally go back to school missing lots of topics and subjects. The government and those making laws should see this as a priority.
