Making merit on Buddhist holy days at Thai temples in Malaysia

avatar

Good morning. This morning we came to make merit at a Thai temple in Malaysia. It is to make merit at the institute of monks who have passed away. It is a tradition of Thais and Chinese people in Malaysia that today is considered a day to make merit for those who have passed away. From our grandparents who have passed away, we will come to receive merit today. There will be many people coming to make merit for our relatives who have passed away and our families also come to make merit and offer food to the monks today. Many people come to make merit here. This is a Thai temple in Malaysia. There is only 1 monk at the temple. It took us 40 minutes to travel from our home to this temple. Today I feel happy and glad to have come. Making merit, making merit makes our minds refreshed and bright. Come and ask for blessings from the sacred things in our lives that will only bring happiness and prosperity. And I ask that friends also receive merit this time together. May your life be filled with happiness and prosperity. Prosperous as well. Thai temples in Malaysia. Giving food to monks is similar to Thailand, except that monks in Malaysia do not walk in the morning to give food to monks. They stay in the temple only, waiting for kith and kin or people to come and give food to monks. At the temple, after making merit, we offer food to bring good fortune to ourselves. It is believed that by giving food, we will always have food to eat and not be in need. Today is considered another good day for our family to come and make merit. May May everyone be happy as well. Amen.
