Relationships.....Mutual Benefits or Love | QC Community Contest #162
To be in a relationship is a wonderful thing. Rather it’s for mutual benefit or love. I believe that both are required in order for it to last. If there is only one or the other, there will always be conflict in the relationship.
Mutual benefit or love or both…..
A relationship built on mutual benefit will lead to one or both to seek out a relationship for love elsewhere. The mutual benefit will eventually fade & the two will get tired of the charade & eventually will split because the benefit is no longer worth it.
A relationship built on love may hold a stronger bond but can also lead to one or both feeling like something is missing and seeking other benefits outside of the relationship.
With both love & mutual benefit the relationship is stronger due to little need to search outside of the relationship for either or.
Society judges everything………
Society judges everything because that’s just nature. In any environment people sit around and make judgements about others.
Personally
There is no way I could be in a relationship just for mutual benefit. I need love over all. While mutual benefit is needed as well. We must be on the same page. While it’s okay for two people to have different interest, it’s also important to have mutual benefit & love. There has to be a vow to avoid drifting apart. Like if you just want someone because they have better financing then you, what happens if & when your finances become equal or more. Or how about all the attention they once provided starts to become less & less. These mutual benefits turn one away and on to someone new, but when you add love to the equation, the couple are more likely to try & work through these issues.
As for me, I need them both and would have it no other way. I’ve been married now for 15 years and while the benefits have been up & down, the love has always been a factor.

This is such a great point. Most of the time people think that love is all that they need to have a good relationship, but the material part is also important. And is exactly as you said, if some part is missing there will be conflict, resentment, and they will look for what they need elsewhere.

I believe that what people fail to see that love entails much more the just one sentiment. Love is trust, communication, respect, integrity, and so much more & they're all required to truly be in love with someone. It also must be unconditional, meaning that you're willing to work through & with the one you love. That also includes the material side of things. There so much that can be said on the subject that you could write a book.
