My 1st beer saturday of 2025

Yesterday for the first time since my surgery 6 weeks ago , I went shopping again in the supermarket and i spotted this beer that i haven't seen before La Chouffe .

So here is my first contribution for #beersaturday by @detlev in 2025.

It's a Belgium blond beer , but on one side it says alcohol free and on the other side it says 0.4% alcohol ...

I spotted these in the supermarket in a carton package of 4 bottles so if it would have a bad taste atleast i didn't buy to many of them .

I like the odd shaped bottle and was surprised to see that it didn't have deposit on it for returning the empty bottles .
funny thing is it's Belgium beer but the gnome wears Dutch woodenshoes ...

yeah i know i don't have any beer glasses normaly i drink out of bottle or can .

The only reason i use a glass now is to show the color of the beer

ok the first taste really not bad , not to bitter either just a friendly beer that kills your thirst and doesn't make you thirsty instead.

sans alcohol translates to me as with alcohol , and yet on the same label it says alcohol free ...

all in all a nice blond beer that i don't mind to have in the refrigerator .

Its really nice indeed. I think I have tried the caramel tripple or smth. They do have unique taste and not rly that very strong as some IPA's has. Great choice for a journey😉

I hope we can find La Chouffe here in Dubai too. It would be fun to try it. Definitely keeping an eye out for it.

no idea how life is in Dubai , i thought that alcohol was forbidden in those regions

Yeah, it’s a bit different! Alcohol isn’t completely forbidden in Dubai, but it’s regulated, you can buy it in licensed stores.

it's kind of regulated here too no alcohol under 18 , but a lot of parents buy it and let the kids drink it anyway at home .

La Chouffe is one of my favorite brands. The blonde and IPA are very good I think.
I had the 0,4% recently too and like you, I also liked it.
The low and 0% alcohol beers are getting better and better. Especially the craft beers.
And the shame for drinking one, which there once was, is (mostly) gone.

i was really surprised by the taste of it , nver had this brand before but definitly one to remember . I need to stick to 0.0% alcohol since i'm the only one that can drive in case of emergency, my wife doesn't have the vissability anymore to drive safely.

If you're already having your first Beer Saturday, it means you're really doing much better since the surgery, which makes me very happy. I found this beer strange because of its bottle, with the alcohol-free message on one side and the contradiction on the other, and even that anecdote you tell about the gnome's shoes 😅 Still, I can see that it's delicious and a good option to have in the fridge for hot days. Good for you, bro! I hope you're having a great Saturday...
