Dorpsfeest Hoogland , Holland part 1
Today i went with my wife , son in law , grand daughter and daughter to a local festival called "Dorpsfeest Hoogland " .
We started with a little rain and ended up in a sunny Sunday.

since there are + 60 photos i've decided to split the post in 3 parts
1 ) We started to walk from my daughters house to the festival , while the rain had just stopped , hoping it would stay dry.
2 ) on our way to the festival i spotted this statue , no idea about the artis that made it but it looked intresting enough for a photo.
3 ) The entrance to the festival , the entrance fee was €0.00 yes it was for free .
4 ) one big tent with music stage , the white tent was filled with toilets
5 )And left of that where people sitting eating and drinking , all consumptions needed to be paid with festival tokens , the price of one token was € 3.-
6 ) I hate it when they use tokens, they always cloud your mind about the real price you are paying for your consumption.
7 ) but you can get all kinds of things from different bars.
8 ) oh and yes it is allowed to drink alcohol while standing next to a minor, i know in certain countries you can get a ticket for that.
9 ) I didn't went inside the tents to much noise for me
10 )one pink church building as a big air castle
11 ) one big rainbow colored tent
12 ) some demonstration about horse back riding

15 )bungee jump trampolines , my daughter used to love that when she was 12, long long time ago.
16 )yup a photo bomb ...was trying to take a picture of the food stand in the background , when my cameras Auto focus decided to focus on the amateur photographer on the foreground
17 ) there was also a small market with handcrafted items that you could buy , all prices are in Euro .
18 ) not the kind of kitch i would buy but there is always a market for it.
19 ) Items crafted of wood
20 ) the man behind the counter was also demonstrating his craftsmenship on the lathe.

I had to laugh at your comment about the festival tokens—you are so right! It's a clever trick that makes you forget how much you're actually spending. It seems to be the same at festivals all over the world.
The big pink tents look like a lot of fun, and that statue you found is very intriguing. Looking forward to seeing part 2!

Funny enough, I learned it recently with my wife, that it is much more expensive to take the kid to this kidn of festival, rather than when you go for a playground with a fixed price. I mean, there are too many things to do, and sometimes you can just lost track of the spending Not to mentioned to token system that you have there, I think I can blow up the budget pretty easily.
But hey the experience is there, maybe once is a while is ok.
Just like the photobombed you get from the amateur phonographer.

The experience is there but selling tokens and make it look cheap is like fraude to me . But most of the people won't notice that any more after a couple of beers ...
Your grandson and son-in-law enjoyed this wonderful nature-related place with rainbow-like decorations and wonderful playful dolls and various antiques. The unique view with nature is truly captivating and gives peace to see. Thank you very much for sharing this wonderful picture.
