Bird watching on the balcony
Last night when the heat finally lost it's power and tempertures dropped below 25 degrees Celcius. we had 34 degrees celcius yesterday way to hot for my liking.
Unlike today when we finally have some normal temperature again of 18 degrees celcius outside .
These images are created by me with my Sony A7II + Sigma 150-500mm lens .
So after we opened the balcony door first one out was the cat patroling the area and i noticed she got excited over something , so i went out side to see what triggerd her .
I saw in one of the trees below a lot of pigeon activity , so i went back inside grab the camera switch lenses and when back outside again to take these photos .
The tree we are talking about is a Amelanchier × lamarckii / Juneberry ,
the noice in the tree was caused by these wood pigeons / Columba palumbus .
Since the tree is full with berries but the branches are to weak to carry the weight of the wood pigeons , the pigeons were strugeling to get to the berries without falling out of the tree .
So to get to berries without falling out of the tree the pigeons were using their wings for balance or to spread their weight.
it looks a bit clumsy when you see them balancing in that tree
but i guess the taste of the berries is to good
and got it , you can see that the pigeon leans with it's wings on the branches to balance his / her weight .
but the berries are on the end of the branches need to balance the weight , this one does everything possible to get to the berries
The cat spotted another one ...
seems the pigeons like the berries a lot
And another one joining the party
And on the other roof the magpie is wondering what the fuss is al about
Well that is it for today hope you liked the birds show .
have a great week .
