From Dashi Powder to Little Japanese Food Haul
I was only looking for a dashi powder for the miso soup few weeks ago. Well, I found one online. But then, is that what I am only going buy?
Straykat got amused scrolling on the store's products and ended up having more on her cart. And after a careful deliberation, these were the items which made it to the final list:
MY LITTLE NIHON FOOD HAUL
🌸 Hondashi Powder

The culprit for this unplanned haul. It's used to enhance the miso soup. I'm actually happy that I decided to follow the miso soup's instruction to add dashi powder because it tastes better with it.
I've already used it twice for my miso soup. If you wish to know how to make a miso soup, you can check out my previous post (Quick and Easy Soup: MISO SOUP!).
🌸 Salmon and Egg Furikake

Furikake is flavoring or seasoning sprinkled on top of rice. I was really curious how it tastes because I often see this rice topping on photos and even on anime. I bought two flavors (salmon and egg) and the similarities I found in these two are
they both contain seaweed and sesame seeds.
Okay, please don't laugh but as soon as I opened the packet of salmon furikake the smell reminded me of those pellets given to fishes. It even looks like one. Lol!
As for the egg flavor furikake, well, nothing much special about it but it had a faint taste of egg in all fairness. The furikake is fun to add on rice as it also provided a crunchy texture while eating rice although I don't think I will be purchasing furikake again.
🌸 UFO Instant Yakisoba Noodles

The name itself is already interesting and easily catches attention. I still can't give a feed back on its taste but I bet this is good because I've seen this before posted by a Japanese theater actor I am following. Plus, I like yakisoba noodles as well.
🌸 Matcha Milk Tea

Of course, matcha! A good-tasting matcha drink instantly makes my day happy. I've already tasted it once on hot water and I'd say it's good. Maybe it would even taste better when I use milk instead of water. I specifically bought this matcha drink because it says "Tsujiri" on its description which reminded me of my favorite matcha store.
🌸 Matcha Chocolate

I've contemplated several times whether to purchase this or not because it's the second most expensive item on my cart. But it's already my chance to taste a Meiji matcha chocolate so it's now or never. Lol.

I didn't expect the box was small. it contains 26 thin little blocks which is a bit saddening. I wish it was larger because it tastes delicious. The chocolate is almost melted when I opened the wrapper so it's best to refrigerate it first before consuming.
Oishii!
I love my little food haul especially the matcha. The furikake is also interesting although I don't think I would be needing it on my rice. Still, it was nice to finally try it. I'm glad there are now online shops selling goods from Japan. I can now try their goods which I can only see online.
Shopping online is kind of addictive, and with the options to pay it later, makes it more twice enticing to go on a shopping spree. If you're not careful enough, you might end having a debt you aren't capable to pay. So be a responsible shopper always. Happy shopping! Arigatou!
Thanks for reading! 💚
Thank you so much! ✨️
Oi, they are all Japan products, cool! You're really living a Japanese life. I'm jealous 🥹. I'm bot familiar with all of these but they all look like a good pampalasa. Nasa Japan kaba now?
Nasa ph lang ako. Haha yes, good naman lahat di ko lang masyado ma-appreciate ung furikake parang dagdag crunch lang habang nginunguya yung rice. 😆
This haul looks so pleasing, because all the items in Japanese make it attractive and foreign from someone like me who is from the Philippines. Which make me more curious of this taste. Thanks for posting about it. 😀
