BeerSaturday - Getting My Feet Wet, While Wetting My Whistle

avatar

It ain't gonna be easy, but yet I am here: Giving myself a go at #beersaturday, posting in the BEER community. It's quite ironic, as I do enjoy a good brew myself, but for the longest time I thought I could never possibly come up with more than a handful of words to describe a beer.

I realized this during my month in Victoria, British Columbia, where I tried a different beer every night, of the numerous microbreweries the city has to offer. Each one was unique, but still delicious in its own way. Since I was already avidly posting here (on the old chain), the idea did occur to me, but I soon discarded it. It was clear that in the long run, all those posts would be virtually identical.

And Then I Talked to @detlev ...

That was at Web3 Berlin, where he received fellow Hivers (and presumably those who wanted to become ones) with a cup of delicious METABREW from the tap. But that was not all. Soon the connection was made between the !BEER token, the respective community, and the Beer Saturday challenge, where I have finally decided to participate in.

How to BeerSaturday?

So here is how to qualify for this challenge:

  1. Write a beer related post. It doesn't necessarily have to be published on a Saturday, but for me it would feel totally weird if I posted on any other day, so this is my own pedantic restriction right here.
  2. The post must have at least three beer related pics in it, and a text of at least 200 words. Like I said, that is the most challenging part of this challenge, but let's see...
  3. Use the hashtag #beersaturday, and link your post in that week's challenge post. And yes, please visit that post for all the additional info on how the whole thing works, and to see how much BEER, HIVE, and even LEO you can win!

My Beer With My Name On It

So let's get down to it: Even before coming to Germany this year, people have associated my Hive name with a certain beer (which, just like me, is named after a medieval pirate - that's right!) So clearly, when I got here I had to try it. It was good, so I tried it again, and yet again. My favorite variety is the Pacific Ale (the real Störtebeker never even knew about that ocean, but okay), however, what is most common at the Späti stores is the Atlantic Ale which is also nice and tasty.

Invite Your Friends ... If They're on Hive

Finally, I want to make good use of the feature in this challenge to invite new people to become part of the Beer Community. And who else would be a better choice, than @moneyfoxx , who donated a case of Jurand beer to a handful of Hivers for helping them carry some stuff after the Web3 Berlin. It was a refreshing, tasty Pilsener. (Hahaha, can you see what I meant about talking about beer?)

Thank you so much, @moneyfoxx , and WELCOME TO HIVE!!! I suppose back then you weren't even signed up, and now I am excited to check out your profile, after posting this. So this is #BeerSaturday week 315 and I would like to invite @moneyfoxx to write a post in any language about beer with at least 3 pictures.

Okay, and with this, I feel my post is good enough to be published. Looking forward to another great Beer Saturday. Cheers!

Thank you! And of course, just for fun. It would be way too serious otherwise. Cheers!

Thanks! And yeah... 315 weeks, that means it just had its 6th anniversary. So it came out only a month or so after I joined the old chain. OMG!!!

Still, I can't see myself writing extensive description of beer, but I'll find something else, slightly related, to talk about.
