Woken After Broken

“Are you the owner of this company? Are you the general manager?” Dare ask as he was fuming uselessly about a matter that wouldn't favor the company.
“No, sir, I'm just a floor member giving the best idea that would make the company move ahead and grow larger with countless benefits.” Johnny was so pathetic with his tone as he withdrew his speech back.

Mr. Ola owns the Finetek Construction Company after succeeding it from his dad, Mr. Mark. He has so many employers and has placed Dare as the MD, being his best friend. The company is based on constructing roads and building bridges as well as houses. They have been the best during the time of Mr. Mark, but when Ola succeeded his father, their activeness went down drastically.

“What's happening to my company? Why is it not going as planned, and why are we not having the best clients as before?” Ola gathered all the members, both the workers and the MD, just to get advice from them on a way forward.
“We have been targeting the flyover the state wants to build. I submitted the proposal to the one in charge, and he asked us to wait for the next two weeks.” Ola got some smiles on his face as he listened critically to Dare.

“Do we have another idea that would put the company in better shape?” Ola asked the workers just to share their thoughts if they had any.
“Sir, I have an idea that, I think, is the best thing to do presently and what, I think, would give us the opportunity for our proposal with the state government to stand,” Johnny said as he stood on his feet. Meanwhile, Dare hates taking ideas from his workers, as he thinks he is capable of giving any best idea that can bring the company into a better shape.

“Go ahead,” Ola replied.
“Thank you, sir. My only advice, and what I think would be the best thing to do, is to meet with the secretary to the state government after submitting the proposal. This would be the best thing to do, as it will hasten our proposal with the state government. Keeping quiet after the submission would not be enough, as we have so many competitors out there that are ready to acquire that same project.” Dare was busy growing some tumor of anger within him as he listened to Johnny.
“That's a brilliant idea you have there,” Ola replied.
“I'm the contrary; we don't have to meet with anyone, as I'm not a failure. I know so many people in the government house who would sign my proposal within a blink of an eye. I just want you to take your advice to yourself but not to this compan”y, Dare replied angrily.

“If this is what would bring my company to a better shape, why can't we go for that?” Ola asked as the owner of the company.
“No, that will not help the growth of the company,” Dare said with the elements of anger in him.

After some minutes, the meeting was over after buying into the sole idea of Dare.

“After the meeting, Dare summoned Johnny and two other workers. He bluntly asked Johnny not to interfere in his work but just to focus on the work he came here for. “I'm not joking when I say you should focus on your work and stop talking anytime we have a meeting like that. I don't like buying into people's ideas, as they have failed me in the past. I just love taking my idea solely. So, none of you must speak or give a useless idea or even bring a nonsense idea to my table. Let it end as of toda”y, Dare shouted at them while speaking to them and was particular about Johnny's statement in the meeting.

All the workers in the company kept observing and waiting patiently for the day the proposal would be approved. One day, Dare traveled to the State House just to get confirmation from them on the proposal he had submitted. When he got there, he met so many people who had submitted through the means he had submitted. Some were called to break down their proposal while some were leaving angrily. Some were smiling while leaving. Dare went directly to his friend, who was a brother to the state government, and bribed him just to hasten his proposal. He promised him that everything would be done within the next two weeks and also told him to go home and sleep. “Just go home and be thinking of how you are going to build the flyover come October (four months from now),” he said as Dare was excited to hear that statement.

He came back home with a smile on his face. Since he said no one must ask any questions, we all were just waiting for him to blow the horn out of his mouth. He called a meeting the next day and told everyone that the proposal was in the right hands and they were going to start the job as soon as possible. “We will be planning on how to build the flyover and be making our budget until we are answered, which I'm pretty sure of. Our proposal is going to come to reality,” Dare said with countless smiles on his face.

A week has turned to two, and from two to three, and three to a month and to two months without hearing news of success.

Ola came back asking about the success of the project, but this time with a sad face. “I was told our proposal has been removed from the list, according to a reliable source,” Dare said in a shaking tone.
“I only placed you here just because of friendship and the trust I had for you, but now, you have failed me,” Ola said angrily.
“I know I have failed you; please just forgive me, and let's take to Johnny's idea,” Dare said.
Johnny was called, and he started processing the proposal from scratch. They met with the senator of that district as well as some other high-ranking members who were mentioned by the senator. When that was done, Johnny and his boss, Dare, went back to work, and they were given two weeks to check their mail, and if nothing, it means the proposal is not accepted. After the said time, there was a happy mood in the company, and Ola called Johnny and immediately promoted him to a higher rank. Dare apologize to Ola and also to Johnny for not buying into his idea.
