The New Doris

“ So happy completing my secondary school exams. At least, I will have time to rest and watch plenty of movies", Doris is someone who has been glued to her school as her parents always force her to always read. Now that she is done with her final year exams, she has this mind of playing and sleeping at home without being disturbed.

“Doris”, She was supposed to complete a task at home before jumping outside. Her happy mum receiving her back home yelled.

“Yes mum”, happy Doris jumped up and ran to her mum.
“Make sure you do the house chores before watching movies”, just as if her mum has known what she has in mind to do.

Doris knew she had been freed from the bondage of always reading her books, and now her gadgets have been given to her. Also, she has access to the television. She can watch whatever movie she feels like watching.

Staying at home has her joy, not until she begins to feel bored. She had stayed the first week without complaining. She stayed for another week, but later found out that her happiness was becoming sour. She was always sleeping and this made her body size change.

She was the only one at home and was feeling a load of boredom has been weighing and draining her down. Fatigue has been her worries. She had finished dozens of movies and had nothing left to do, instead was just surfing the Internet watching funny movies.
“I'm tired of watching movies and surfing through the Internet. I don't know what to do again and this has been a load of boredom to me sitting at home”, she was just soliloquizing to herself as she walked towards the window. She slowly opened the window and took her gaze outside. The fresh air outside reminded her how she always runs to school as early as possible. She saw some group of students heading to their schools, and she smiled slightly, but still felt bored. She turned her gaze to the left-hand side of her sight. She saw a bird perching on the flower planted at the front of a neighbor's abode. The flowers were beautiful alongside the bird.

“I think I have an idea of what can bring happiness into my face instead of staying at home lonely and bored”, a phase of happiness enclosed in her face. She smiled and walked slowly to her father's room. She took her father's camera and head outside. She began to take photos of flying birds and the beautiful flowers. She extended her tour to the nearby forest, although only took little photos. Another realm of happiness showered on her face as she watched the photos she had taken.

“Dad, please, I took your camera this afternoon to take some photos. Bored and tired of watching movies and even tired of sitting at home”, she was so confident to spill it out.
“I think you can use it since you have found happiness attached to it, but don't let your mind away from your upcoming exams that will take you to the university”, just advice from father to daughter as he provided her with access to his camera.

This time, she entered the forest and just to take photos of some animals, of any as well as birds, flowers. She derived happiness from doing this act keenly.

She walked closer to a beautiful bird she saw without observing her steps. She walked and slipped off. She has lost hope at that moment. Her mind skipped as she thought the camera would not be in a good shape. She gave up her mind that whatever thing that would happen should just happen. She was so surprised to see herself on the alms of a guy. Her mind skipped as she rushed up immediately as she thought she has landed herself on the hands of a ghost.

“Hey who are you and how did you get here so fast, how did you know I was going to fall?” Too many questions were asked waiting for a hold reply. She wanted to run away, but saw the handsome looking guy.

“I am always coming here to ease my boredom. I was beside you unnoticed. I could not allow you to fall and break your camera without catching you”, He was overwhelmed with the beauty he saw on his arm.
“Oh, I'm Dani, and you?” It was a good moment to ease the realm of boredom and a fresh start.
“I'm Doris, and thanks for saving me”, looking at his eyes gave her assurance of hope.
The two sat discussing life and the life ahead. It was a good moment between the two. As Doris got home, she could not think straight other than to think of Dani. Love overtook the air as she was unable to wait an inch before going back to the forest very early in the morning. Luckily, she met Dani and they both chatted and started a new phase of happiness.

“Thank you for giving me new hope”, he said.
