The Heart Speaks

It's Ben's traditional marriage ceremony and everyone is up and doing to make it the best.

“Please, why did you wear this ring on your toe?” Ben was so observant without knowing the reasons for Adela wearing such an expensive ring on her toe.
“It's our tradition to wear it, most, especially when you are identical twins”, Adela replied as she leans on Ben's chest.

They were playing together and at the same time trying to know more about each other apart from what they have both known before now. Since their wedding is approaching, it's a must for Ben to get her a ring for their introduction and traditional marriage.

A week later, Ben got Adela a ring from a jewellery shop. He dropped it without letting Adela know about it. When Adela entered, she saw the ring and was excited. She did not ask what the ring was for and took it. She replaced her initial ring that was in her toe with the new one.

Meanwhile, they have to go for a traditional marriage before the white wedding.
“My in-law, you are welcome to our family”, one of Adela's uncles threw special greetings to Ben and his people.
“Thank you Sir”, some of them replied.
Ben's family members were not that much since the place is a little far from Ben's family home.

The traditional marriage started properly. Adela and Anna were identical twins and must be dressed in the same attire. Their faces must be covered while coming out, just for Ben to make his choice. The two twins were critically identical, of which every feature in one is in the other.

Two ladies were brought out to where Ben and his family members were seated. The two ladies greeted as they knelt down traditionally.
“My in-law, you have to make your choice. We will know if you truly know the one your heart beats for”, Adela's dad was smiling as he made the two to kneel before Ben and his family.

Ben starts moving around them, looking if he will recognize his Adela. He walked and walked around them without knowing the right choice. He was confused, but then could not see anyone who would make his heart beat keenly.

“I can't find my choice here”, Ben was so sure, but then his family members were not sure of Ben's choice at that moment. The rule is that, any choice you made will be the one you must take as your wife. The heart of his family members were beating so fast waiting for the two ladies to be unveiled.

The veils were taken out and behold, Ben made the right decision. The two ladies were off the beat.

A few minutes later, another two ladies were brought and this time, they gave Ben two conditions: “if you did not know whom to choose, we will open their faces for you to make your best choice according to your heart”. “Better" Ben looked good with these two choices given to him. He knew he would have to decide the one his heart had longed for.

The two were brought out and Ben was seeing a unique quality between these two. He moved around and turned around several times. Even with the turning around, he could not find his choice and the one his heart beats for. Although, he could hear and perceive that his choice was among the two ladies being brought out.

“Please, my in-law, I would want you to take off the veils”, confusion has overtaken the air.
“If that's what you want, I will do just that”, Adela's dad said as he unveiled the two ladies. The arena and everyone around marvelled with the beauty they saw in the two identical twins. No one was able to recognize who the match for Ben was, not even Ben himself was capable of recognizing the one his heart longed for.

Ben began to move around them, turning from his left to his right, trying so hard to know his woman. He observed Anna critically, from her head to her toes. He moved closer to Adela and did the same.
“Ha… I'm confused”, he opened up, but it's a choice he must make just to get who he truly wanted as a wife.

“My in-law, this is just the process you have to pass through to know if you will truly identify our child out there and also if you are someone who comes with a good heart” one of Adela's uncles said.

"OK, let me go again ", he said.
"Remember, your time is tickling, and we want to leave here on time ", another Adela's uncle said.

He went round again looking in-depth just to know the one rightfully made for him. He looked Anna again from head to toe. He walked towards Adela, he observed her from head to toes. He saw something different among them. He observed Anna's toes, and saw a ring placed on her right legs. He took his mind back to where he asked Adela about the ring she wore in her toe. He could not still know which legs the ring was placed in.

He walked around Adela and saw a different ring, but this time his mind went back to the ring he had bought for Adela. He knew he had not given the ring to Adela, but the one she was wearing looks similar.
“Could it be that Adela took the ring from the wardrobe?” He tried to figure it out but after too many thoughts, he stretched his hands and embraced the twin placed at his left-hand side.
“Are you sure of the choice you have made?” Adela's dad asked.
“Yes, that's my woman”, Ben replied.
“Look at the two critically and be sure of what you are going for”, one of her Uncles raised.
“No, Sir, this is my wife”, Ben was so sure of his choice.
“My in-law, you have not chosen the .....”,
“Oh no!” Ben thought and heart was raised, and he thought he had made the wrong choice.
“You have chosen the right choice”, the whole crowd gave Ben applause as they both hugged each other.

I like how Ben finally recognized Adela by remembering the special ring on her toe. That detail made the story unique and showed how love can guide someone, even through confusion and pressure, to the right choice.

he was so lucky that his wife took the ring and wore it on her toe. it would have been a difficult one for him.

The decision was a complex one for Ben, thank God he was able to recognise the ring he gave Adela and thank God she wore it in a place he would see it, what a right choice Ben made.
