Wild ponies on the beach!

I was lucky enough to share a beach house on the Outer Banks in North Carolina last week. Its the off season so the beaches aren't crowded but the sunrise is still just as beautiful 🙂
The beaches are wonderful. Dunes, nice sand, ocean breeze, and no people 😁 It was a little cool but I've always liked shorts and sweater type beach time.
Pony tracks on the empty beach. There is a wild ponies population on the Outer Banks that descended from Spanish mustangs.

How wild are they? There are a few places in Arizona with wild horses and they are starting to get zebra stripes on their legs from living there so long. Not sure what sort of coloring north carolina would bring out in wild horses.
They live on some preserves with limited space. They are actually rounded up every once and awhile and some sold to keep population healthy and small enough for habitat to support. Most of the management consists of keeping the people away 🙄
Stunning. I used to ride my horse on the beach all the time. Can't do it now. Too many people and Karens.
More horses, less people haha the world would be a better place 😁
