Vermont day trip
Got out for a short day trip yesterday.
Day trips for us are basically 1) lunch 2) photos 3) browsing country stores and/or galleries.
This trip checked all the boxes.
I thought I would start with some of the photography.
The bridges were in Waitsfield and Warren, Vermont.
The drive was up Highway 100. Nice drive anytime of the year. Maples are leafing out right now. Reminded us to make sure and drive this again in the fall.

I’ve long been fascinated by those covered bridges you have in the US. Is there a reason they are the way they are? Are all bridges built that way in particular states?
Covered bridges started in the old days when the structural elements of the bridges were made of wood. It was cost effective to build a roof over the wooden bridge so it would last longer. They have since become a New England icon. Many covered wooden bridges are rebuilt when damaged or burned down to preserve the history of the area.

Enjoy your weeekend
Yes there are many in this area. I've started stopping to take pictures whenever I pass one.
Looks like an amazing spot.
Very New England 😉
