Abbey Pond wide

Abbey Pond. Addison County, Vermont. Near Middlebury, Vermont. Abbey Pond is a moderate hike. 4.3 miles round trip. 1200 ft elevation gain. About 2.5 hours.

Beaver pond

Beaver Pond near Ripton, Vermont off of a section of the VAST Trail. Near Robert Frost mountain. We just hiked a section of the Vermont Association of Snow Travelers trail network. Easy hikes in the summer.

Always so nice scenery once you get back in the woods 🙂

Ripton Country Store

We also try to explore the little Vermont towns when out and about. This is the Ripton Country Store. Seems every village has one and most are unique and fun.

Abbey Pond

Another shot from Abby Pond this is a nice hike we try to do at least once every summer. The shore is mostly maples so its a nice place to check fall colors also.

I love the country store! I didn't know that there is a mountain named for Robert Frost, Gorgeous photos!

Thanks. That’s a cute store. Deli counter, some groceries, nice wine section, apple cider donuts, and oh yeah the Ripton post office lol

Most of our country stores are gone in this area. I can only think of 2 still open....

I think tourists and lack of other shopping options keep these going. Not even a gas station or convenience store in most places. Plus tradition. The locals like them and support them.
