Snowy shots

Tall

The snow is hanging around since it is still cold. Some wood stacks under the snow caught my eye.

Side

Interesting patterns and shapes.

Wide

It was late afternoon when I took this photos so the lighting was hit or miss. The sun is still low in the sky in the northern regions like Vermont.

Stumps

You can see the different light and shadows in this picture. You also get some almost blue coloring sometimes off the snow.

Stump

This old stump is catching better light from the west in the late afternoon.

Milk Barn

This neat and tidy little building is an old milk barn. Lots of the old farmsteads have a few buildings that have been repurposed and restored. This one is used as a garden shed.

Garage

This small barn was saved and moved several years ago. Its now a garage.

Flag

The lumber and beams were re-used and put on a new foundation. A new roof was put on and its now solid for many years to come. You have to be motivated by historical or sentimental value to undertake such a restoration. New small garages can be built for much less if you are only interested in functionality. I always like to see resotration work on the old farmsteads around rural Vermont.

Toss me on the side of restoring and maintaining old buildings over a modern day one.

Awesome shots; as always.

Thanks I love when I see people putting money and time into restoring the old farms around Vermont.

It's cool to reuse old buildings for other purposes. I like the garage... Yes, lots of snow and cold weather, we have time before it melts.
Enjoy your day

Thanks. I like when they save old wood structures like this instead of putting up inexpensive metal sheds
