Mt Moosalamoo hike
Hiked up to the peak of Mt Moosalamoo yesterday. We went the back way.
6.8 miles and about 1400 ft in climb. We started at the Mt Moosalamoo campground trailhead.
There are actually two trails that lead to the summit from that trailhead - the Moosalamoo trail and the North Branch trial. We went with the Moosalamoo trail.
The Moosalamoo trail is also a mountain bike trail and was well maintained all the way up.
Most of the climb came at the end when we met up with the Oak Ridge trail and followed it to the summit.
The Green Mountains are not a high mountain range. Mt Moosalamoo is 2625 ft above sea level. The mountains in the American west are much higher.
My motivation for this hike is in this picture. The mountain across the lake is Mt Moosalamoo. I look at it everyday. So I really wanted to climb to the peak. We have hiked on it alot over the years but never up to the summit. Probably because there are some better vistas from points below the summit. In any case, it was a fun hike 👍
This view is just breathtaking!! Not the clouds showing off in the last photo, these are dope, thanks for sharing
Thanks. It was a fun hike 👍
So much greenery, even at the top! That view on the last image is wonderfully serene :)
Thank I love that last shot. Better than the view from the top and easier to get to 🙂
