Merry Christmas

New wreath on the front door. My father passed away a couple of weeks ago. We made the long trip back home and stayed with my mom for a few days. When we returned our neighbor that was watching our house had replaced the fall wreath with a Christmas wreath 🙂 What an awesome friend!

It has been snowing here off and on. My youngest son made it home for the holidays.

We have been staying pretty close to home and cooking/baking.

My wife made this yule log. We had planned to make one three years ago but a horrible storm hit and we were without power for several days around Christmas staying with another of our wonderful neighbors. So we decided to give it go this year.

Cinnamon rolls have become a Christmas morning tradition in our house.

Plus we did a turkey dinner this year on Christmas, complete with mashed potatoes and our unusual family tradition of egg noodles. Not sure where that one came from but all my siblings do it now. They were always a part of turkey dinners growing up.

The lake is cooling down. Ice was creeping on to the lake in this photo.
