Goshen Mountain hike
We got out for a hike on July 4th. 3.3 miles from Brandon Gap at 2170 ft up to Goshen Mountain peak at 3290 ft.
We started at the Brandon Gap parking area. The Long Trail (which runs the length of Vermont from north to south) crosses the highway about 100 yards from the parking area.
You take the Long Trail about 0.75 miles then take a trail up to Sunrise Bowl. Sunrise Bowl is a back country skiing area.
Then continue on to the peak of Goshen Mountain.
The Long Trail is primarily a hiking trail but also can be snow shoed or cross country skied in the winter. It also provides access to several back country ski areas.
We've hiked and snow shoed several sections of the Long Trail near our home. The Long Trail is still maintained and was built by the Green Mountain Club. The trail was built between 1910 and 1930.
