Fungi and flowers

Tiny

A few photos of mushrooms and a couple of flowers.

Close up

I've been talking about searching out a few mushrooms for photos.

Open

Its been a wet spring and they are out there. Just takes time so I made a little today.

Shiny

These were in the mulch around a tree I was watering so that was easy 😉

Bitten

Probably don't need to water a tree that has mushrooms growing in the mulch. Probably plenty moist. But hey I was watering all the other trees...

Herb Robert

This pretty little flower is Herb Robert - a type of geranium. It just showed up on the edge of the forest recently.

Raspberry

More exciting is raspberry blooms showing up on the edge of the forest. I love foraging for wild raspberries 😋

Wonderful photos! Wild geraniums and blackberries are blooming here, too!

Thanks for the support. I love the little discoveries like the tiny geraniums in the woods. They have just started blooming.

Thanks 🙂 the wild raspberries are a little ahead of my raspberries in the garden. Perfect for getting the bees going 👍 however the blueberries in the garden have already bloomed and the bees and hummingbirds are constantly on them. And I guess since I started down this path... actually the honeysuckle in the woods is really what is attracting the pollinators right now. Honeysuckle is very common on the edge of the woods here. Some would use the word invasive even 😳

Wonderful to see all the insects and hummingbirds on them already.
I love the smell of honeysuckle. I can imagine it would almost be invasive.
Have a wonderful day. I’m on a ferry right now so could catch up a bit here.

I agree with you. Mushrooms don't grow where there's no moisture, but why not help with a little water. Nice little mushrooms you have there.

I am a little OCD with watering. When I decide its time to water, I water haha hard to observe the soil and mulch and go with natures flow 😆

Love the photos! Mushrooms are always so fascinating to see. I have never seen those wet looking ones before.

Thanks. I've never good with mushroom ID. Those little ones love the wood mulch I use. Around here the mulch tends to stay moist and decay - perfect for mushrooms

That's cool that they grow so close and you can keep an eye on them as they potentially get bigger. I'd be curious if any of the local wildlife will end up eating them.

The slimy orange ones remind me of Hygrophorus speciosus. The slime is the tipoff. The other white ones are a mycena of some kind.

Thanks for the ID help. I need to get out in the woods for some serious mushroom hunting but the mosquitos have hit and are horrible right now 🙁
