Bird houses

For rent

Blue bird house ready for new spring tenant.

House in the woods

This house is on the edge of the woods.

Garden house

Its on one of the posts of the fence around my garden facing a bit of open meadow.

Remodel

I have another house on the opposite corner of the garden.

Garden house 2

I started with three houses a few years ago but the winter, a bear, and some woodpeckers left them in disrepair. I used the parts from the three original houses and rebuilt two for this spring season.

Fairy house

I also found a little group of fairy houses by a cabin along the lake.

Fairy village

There are three houses in this fairy village.

On stump

The village is on the lake shore.

Nest

An ice storm coated everything with a glaze of ice this weekend. This tiny nest is frozen over.

Frozen

I wonder if this nest will be re-used this spring after everything thaws out 🤔

The birds there are so lucky, there are good people who help build their dream home for them.

Una fotografía simple puede decir tantas cosas. Éste es el caso. Gracias

I would not want to be living in that ice nest. Hopefully you'll get to see some bluebirds while gardening, they can be quite tame if they get used to you.

Your reply made me remember Woodstock and Snoopy skating on a frozen bird bath. This is a really old drawing. Woodstock and Snoopy evolved some over time.

That's what the geese were doing a month ago at the pond, standing by their frozen lake looking at ice skaters.

Beautiful to see the bird boxes in your garden.
The ground is clear… wow, here we still have so much snow. Although the pathways are starting to defrost with the unusual warm weather for here. In the rest of the garden is probably still a 40 cm high snow layer.

The ice storm changed everything. Great captures of it covering the nest 🪹

Thanks. We had some warmer weather but probably more importantly rain. Rain really accelerates the thaw.

You are welcome. Yes, rain does help.
Here we had some new snow and sleet… it did start to thaw. Although the neighbour says we get another bad snow storm soon. No spring yet.

Next to the cabin we have about 1/2 meter no snow. I found this morning the first rhubarb coming up. Haha a but too early as we get more freezing nights from tomorrow onwards.
Have a nice day.
