We All Need Holidays

Holidays are the days set aside to celebrate a certain historical event or the break taken after doing the same thing for a period of time (e.g school holidays) and I am a HUGE fan of holidays especially since I am a student. Going to school is very fun and all, but it is also very tiring and many times it is extremely tiring, it leaves one drained mentally as well as physically which is why the practice of going on a holiday at the end of each semester makes all the stress seem like it's somehow worth it and it gives me something to look forward to throughout the torture phase (aka the time spent in school).
I always look forward to the holidays whenever I'm in school because it is during the holidays I get the time and liberty to actually get on with my life because in school, it's as if my main life is on pause while a part of my life keeps running and it leaves me exhausted at the end of the day because unfortunately, I am only human with one brain and I have to focus on the current task at hand or I risk making a mess of everything. But, during the holidays, I get back to my life and actually do the things that I enjoy doing (sleeping freely mostly without the fear of being woken by an early morning alarm) and getting the rest that I need.
As a huge fan of holidays, I believe that we do not have enough holidays as a country. The weekends are a type of mini holiday that signal the end of a week and the weekends are so short. I pray everyday for the weekend to be much longer than it is because the speed with which the weekend ends is very frightening. Sadly, all I have is wishful thinking. In the general calendar there are more workdays than holidays and it is not fair to the masses (in my humble opinion) because there are many people that work round the clock every day of the week and the only rest time they get is during national holidays which do not occur often and do not even last more than 48 hours at most and the only lucky days are when the two-day holiday starts on a Friday then it runs through the weekend till Monday. And those are just the holidays that happen during the course of the year excluding Christmas and New Year's as well as Easter holiday too which are also too short as well.
These holidays are too short and do not last long enough for us to really enjoy the season because during the holiday you'll be reminded that it is going to end soon and everyone will soon get back to work. We need more holidays in the year so that workers can be more rested and actually be happy to return back to work without burning out easily, especially those that work round the clock every day of the week.
I do not want to believe that there is such a thing as too many holidays. If the government were to adjust the duration of these holidays and actually make a few more adjustments to the calendar by creating more holidays (which would be totally understandable), it would benefit workers more and improve workers output. The workforce in Nigeria is filled with workers who are stressed out and unhappy with their working conditions and for some, the only sense of holiday that they get is the few hours of sleep they're able to steal before the start of a new day and the enforcement of these holiday reforms could help improve the working conditions of many workers in the country.
