Do What Works For You
The issue of mental health is a very delicate one and is also one that needs extra care when taken into consideration.
Everyday, we're being advised to look after our mental health. We're advised to take extra care when it comes to our mental health and not to let anything or anyone toy with our mental health.

As we all know, advice like that comes with a list of dos and don'ts and the list is usually pretty long and quite complicated in my opinion and half the time those dos and don'ts don't end up helping totally the way we'd want them to and this is where the journey to a healthy mental health begins.
The stages of mental health vary from person to person in this world and as a result, the key to a healthy mental health is us as individuals. Mental health advice and tips can only help us to an extent but the rest of the way has to be traveled by us individually.
I say this because what may work for one person may not work for the other person and it can be disappointing and discouraging too, especially when one thought it was the solution only to end up worse than before.
We all know that there's madness in this world and the way to cope is to help ourselves.
I'll share some things I do that help me out whenever I am stressed mentally:
- Firstly, I make sure to surround myself with positivity and positive people. Being in the midst of positivity and optimism helps my brain to relax in times of stress and most especially when things are not going as they should, which can be very frustrating and depressing.
My family has been able to keep me from sliding into depression or sadness many times by encouraging me and giving me affirmations when need be.
- Another way I help keep my mental health in check is through this saying:
"Nothing lasts forever"
Which is a powerful saying for me.
Whenever I'm going through a difficult time in my life, I always say those words to myself. I tell myself that it's a phase, a hurdle, a hindrance that will soon pass and I'll overcome it easily.
This helps me to be in control of my emotions and thoughts thereby helping me keep overthinking and worrying far away.
- One of the best ways to help keep your mental health in shape is to do what works for you.
We live in a world where everyone has their opinion to offer for each situation and everyone wants everyone else to do exactly as they say even when it won't exactly work out the way they say it would.
There might be confusion as to what you should do and the best solution to that is to do what works for you. I can't emphasize this enough.
It's always going to be you against the world and it'll be you facing everything alone. That's why it's left to you to find things that make you happy, things that help you grow, people that bring out the best in you, the best kind of friends that resonate with your personality and so forth.
When you figure out the things that work for you, then it'll be easy for you to be in a safe space mentally.
When times are hard, it can be quite easy to lose control of situations and go into a dark place which will not be good for one's mental health, it helps keep negativity at bay and helps put more focus on positive things. It aids clarity of thoughts and helps to lighten the mood.
Surrounding oneself with positive and like minded ones is always a sure way of maintain mental health.
Imagine being with someone that's always reminding you of your failure 😥
