Hello everyone!

I have had a very busy week at work, received a couple of new projects of which some have short deadlines. It's ofcourse not necessarily bad news but it makes me work more hours and thus less time and energy to spend online. But hey, that's not the topic of this post. Although I was busy at work, I tried to lurk around, comment and thread. So I stayed up to date with the latest developments in the world of Hive games. One big development I have seen, was the birth of AHONEX. Ofcourse I had to write an article about that website!

What is AHONEX?

Recently, I saw the official post announcing the birth of AHONEX. As I am always curious what is going on in the world of blockchain games based on Hive, I decided to check it out. It was clear what AHONEX is all about. It's an uctionhouse for Splinterlands cards. You may wonder why this is needed as there are already a variety of marketplaces for Splinterlands cards and assets. Well, the purpose of this auctionhouse is to be able to sell very rare cards. Let's say cards which have only a couple of copies. If there only exist five copies of a card, it's hard to know the value of such a card as there aren't that many trades of yhe particular cards. When you don't know the exact value of that card, it's more ideal to let the market decide the value and thus let different people bid at a certain card. That's the reason AHONEX was developed. It's thus an auctionhouse for Splinterlands cards. You can access it through the following link: https://ahonex.com/

Some numbers about AHONEX

AHONEX is now live for nearly 14 days. On above screenshot, you can see some numbers. The screenshot is made on Saturday the fourteenth of June. As you can see, there are 137 auctions live at the moment I write this article. The last 24hours, there have been auctions worth over $100. The card being auctioned for the highest price was worth over $350. But I have seen cards being traded for a couple of cents as well. Sometimes even real bargains, so definitely check it out!

As you can see on this picture, there is a fully maxed legendary cards of which the highest bid is 0 at the moment. So if you just have some dec laying around of which you don't know what to do with, head over to AHONEX before the timer reaches zero!

How I see the future of AHONEX

Besides listing up some facts about AHONEX, I always enjoying giving my own opinion. As AHONEX is developed by @aggroed, we know a trusted party is behind the website. Aggroed is known as one of the founders of Splinterlands. The fact he has now created the auctionhouse means he wants to solve a problem of several OG's, aka they have a hard time to define the price of their cards and should be able to list their cards easier now. On the other hand, I believe he developed the tool because he sees a lot of future potential in it.

Since it came online, there have already been a couple of bugfixes and improvements on for example the filters. It's definitely not a one-shot application, it will be fine-tuned to become even more user friendly.

As Splinterlands keeps on growing, more cards will come into existence. Each year they have one major launch of a deck of cards and thus other cards are becoming older and older. Having an auctionhouse is a great way to help the players of Splinterlands selling their most rare cards. If you want to hunt for bargains or maybe put your own unique cards for sale, go have a look at AHONEX.

How did I begin to play Splinterlands?

It all began in December 2021, I was a bit bored and was looking for a new game to play on my laptop. After googling a bit, I saw the term play2earn in my google results. I didn't know it at that time but it seemed awesome, earning money while playing games instead of spending money on those games. Soon I learned that play2earn means that you can indeed earn some money to play the games. How does it work? While playing those games, you can earn NFT's of those games. These NFT's can be traded and sold for cryptocurrencies which could be swapped for fiat if you would like to. That's how I started.

Do you want to try out Splinterlands aswell?

It's an auctionhouse for Splinterlands cards, you could place bids on auctioned cards or list a card yourself :D
