Maybe people who eat a lot of bacon don't have much fruit and veg. A lot of veggie alternatives are pretty processed, but I don't know what studies have been done on them. We have 'facon' than is a partial substitute. It's about 30 years since I had any meat.

There must be studies now on those processed vege options. Although they vary - I mean the frozen bean burgers I buy are v different to quorn!
I see cultured meat is being use for pet food now. It will be interesting if they do it for humans too.

The regular meat industry is pretty nasty, but people tend to avoid thinking about it.
