I don't think it's come past here recently, so it was a nice opportunity. I expect you must have some big cycle races too. There will be smaller club events going on too. It's just a big job to close so many roads.

Are you a long way from local facilities? We don't have many shops near us. I can reach some by bike if I have to.

We live in the country between a small town and a bit bigger town. It takes us about ten minutes to get to the mall area, but that is on an expressway where the speed limit is 75 MPH. Riding into the small town would be possible, but you would have to deal with the folks driving 55 MPH on the road. It's about a two mile drive to the edge of the small town. 3 miles to the center of it.

It's about 4 miles to the nearest town centre from here plus there are other villages in the immediate area, so cycling is an option and there are cycle paths to some of them. You really need that infrastructure to get people out of their cars.

Yeah, we don't have the paths like that. I wish we did. It would make things a whole lot easier. If you live in the city you have sidewalks, but I didn't really have a bike back when I lived there.
