The News

You may have seen that crypto is in a bit of a slump. I do not pay too much attention to the markets, but my $HIVE has lost a lot of value. I will still hold onto it though. I am fortunate to not desperately need the money, but others do and it can lead to panic. We each have to decide on our priorities and I hope a fair few people are prepared to maintain or even increase their stake.

Prices

$HBD has dropped a little too. I expect there are attempted to get it back to a dollar. The whole market is down, but that scammy Tron seems to hang on. I do not know why the LEO line stops early, but I rely on @coingecko for the data.

@aioha has a new Hive authentication tool.

@makerhacks has a Wordpress plugin to re-share your Hive posts.

I have posted more Hive country lists and I have requests to do others. I will get some more done soon. I am encouraging the local communities to take them over as I do not really have time to maintain them.

Friday Follows

  • @breakoutthecrazy have returned to Hive and are posting their songs.
  • @selfhelp4trolls also has new music out.
  • My good friends @steve.and.anke also make music and they are playing lots of gigs here.
  • I found @antefunny when looking for additions to the #BritList. I was a little concerned if this was a real account as she was not writing in English and the linked Facebook account has thousands of followers, but she verified herself over there. We do need to check that people are who they say they are.

The Dog House

I am not going to condemn everyone who is selling any $HIVE they earn. Some really need the money to pay their bills. What we do not want or need are those who will try to cheat the system with plagiarism, identity theft and other inauthentic content. There is plenty of this going on and that is where the 'Hive police' come in as most people are not prepared to downvote. Some of their actions may seem less helpful, but they do respond to appeals.

The End

I hope the state of crypto and Hive is not getting you down. I always say that people should try to make this platform fun. The social aspect is important and it can keep people coming back, especially as other platforms become less usable with intrusive advertising. We need to bring more communities to this place that offers more freedom.

I've been off for a little while and saw it going down and down every time I looked, it didn't really make me want to come back.. 😄
I saw the German list, wow, it's cool to see how many are out there in my home country.
Amazing work Mr C! 👏

It's not worth worrying about the price as it's out of our control, but we've seen it bounce back before. You have to play the long game.

There were more active Germans a few years back and I hope some will return.

We will keep hoping whichever way the markets go. Though I can't say I'll continue to hold onto my hive like yourself. But in time I will buy more and power down for the bull run. Green is on the horizon, hive will rise again. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on current market situations. Have a great day.

I'm no expert on markets. My HP earns for me, so I'll keep adding to it.

When the chips are down its powerup time!

Well, it should be. You would have to be nuts to sell in this climate

About 6 $HIVE to the pound now. Seems a bargain.

Pretty tough seeing the market down dearest Steve, but I agree, holding on and focusing on the community aspect is key. Just like I share in my blog today, Hive is more of the technology than a trading asset and I believe we the users need to see it that way. There's so much potential of this platform as a tech.
Hive's potential goes beyond just its value, it's about the connections we build. Happy to be your friend, brother ! have !BEER !PIZZA !HUG

You are out of hugs for today.

You can call the HUG bot a maximum of 3 per day.

I've made a lot of friends here.

You may need to hold more of the tokens to give them out. I know the !BEER one doesn't work if you do it in the same comment as others to reduce abuse.

Wow I didn't know that, I won't abuse it and if perhaps you believe you have enough friends well that's cool dearest Steve. Happy knowing you brother

What is 'enough friends'? There are people I've met and those I share interests with. I will meet more at Hivefest.

Am I weird? I am not in this for the financial rewards, don't follow proper money markets let alone crypto. I am just happy in my own world and in the hive sharing experiences and chatting with others.

I did look at selling HBD for real money but sheesh too complicated for me and then the UK govt ( bastard arseholes all of them) rape you for tax. Maybe one day I will try and beat the system and find a crypto accountant...when there is an all time high , probably be dead before then
Happy saturday

You may an exception. If Hive is fun for you then that's great. Of course you can be rewarding others who may need the money.

I think you can get away with taking out some funds without the taxman caring. I will be spending some HBD on my Hivefest ticket. We need more options to spend crypto directly.

I'm surprised by the SPS token, which has always fallen since it was created. Thanks for the updates

I think Splinterlands have not done as well as they hoped. I stopped playing the game partly due to it getting too complicated and you needed to spend a lot.

I still play Splinterlands, but I've pretty much stopped playing Hive's other games. For what you wrote about Splinterlands, however, I agree with your arguments

I just play Rising Star now. I do rent out my Splinterlands cards and stake SPS to get some income.
