Follow Friday: Let's Roll!
The News
$HIVE has gone up a little this week, but I do not know what is driving that. The 'blue coin' also went up, but soon dropped again. I would sell that one if I were you as their platform is going nowhere.
There is a lot of talk about $XRP vs the SEC. @adetorrent has been reporting on that. We really need to drive discussion of crypto away from the centralised corporate platforms and onto Hive, which seems a more natural place for it.
In general I would encourage people to get off the corporate platforms as they are just getting worse. Use Leo Threads (not the other Threads) for short form content. I have had some great discussions there. Sometimes you do not need a long post to kick things off. There is Ecency Waves too. I think those projects ought to work together as people should see all that is going on. You can do that on Ecency Decks which shows DBuzz too. It looks like Threads manages about 1000 posts per day compared with 260 on Waves.
Friday Follows
- @planetauto are off on a roadtrip in an electric car.
- @forykw has a long post on the wonders of Rising Star.
- @soundlegion puts out loads of great music and here is the latest.
- @digitalfarmer is another musician who has released a song via Rising Star.
These folk get a share of the post rewards.
Meetups
- I am running a UK meetup next weekend.
- Meet with @detlev in Bali next week.
- @hive-eu track meetups across Europe.
Communities
- Geocachers have a home on Hive.
- The Hive Skate Hype community seems to be thriving. They have their own site to host videos.
The Doghouse
In the doghouse this time is Hive! No, not the platform, but the name. I know the witnesses did not have long to settle on a name and some branding when the big fork happened, but that name just clashes with too many things including:
- A crypto mining company, who have at least dropped 'blockchain' from their name now.
- Home automation.
- A Twitter clone.
- An AI company that classifies content.
- Project management systems.
So finding news about our Hive can be hard. In some cases we may benefit from the confusion, but I suspect it harms our SEO overall. Our hashtags may get swamped on some platforms.
Other crypto projects have re-branded, so it is possible. Even changing to something like HiveChain might help as it gives you a unique word to look for. Keeping the name similar may reduce the work required to change logos.
I am not a marketing expert and I am not sure who would need to drive such a change, but I am putting this out there. It is the sort of thing you want to do before going viral.
The End
I managed to find a lot of things to feature this week. I just pick up on what I see around Hive and keep notes to use each Friday. I am happy for others to use the #FollowFriday tag to feature people and communities of interest.
Have a great weekend.

worked out 1000 dollars to buy hive was already x2
Probably we might see hive hit $0.5 before this year ends
We just don't know, but we can keep using Hive anyway.
That looks like a cool list of people. Interesting to see the price going up. I am happy for that although it would have been nice to get some more at a lower price. I guess I will just have to wait for it to come back down.
What constitutes a good price depends on your situation. For those who rely on their Hive income this is really good news. We can always earn more, whatever the price.
I'm just here because I enjoy it.
We're fortunate we can do it for fun.
We always hope to see a major difference in hive among other coins. Happy weekend, sir.
I want to see it recognised as something special. It should be in the top 100 at least.
Enjoy your weekend.
I see a little issue, is this true or not, maybe hive will continue to rise but this is something that makes hive more advanced, hi I don't understand about coins maybe I can learn a lot from here ok Thank You
Others know more of the details, so ask questions of those who do.
