Follow Friday: Hivefest Countdown
The News
There are just four days until @hivefest kicks off. I will get in late on Tuesday evening from Luton, so may not make it to the introductory drinks, but I will stay until Sunday evening to have a look around Split. I look forward to seeing some old friends and to meeting some people for the first time. I can see that a fair few people have bought tickets, so I am hoping for a big crowd. There were a lot at the first couple I went to in Lisbon and Krakow, but not so many at the second Amsterdam event. I keep telling people that it is worth going to connect with Hivers, but I understand that it is not viable for some. This is why we need meetups all over the world and they can be on a smaller scale.
We definitely need to get a buzz going around Hive. The current slump in crypto prices is hitting $HIVE, but I see Justin Sun's shitcoin has gone up a bit. Did he ever do anything with the old chain? I guess he can afford to write off a few million.
If you can afford to buy some $HIVE and power it up then it helps to reduce the available supply. You can get a nice return by holding it and curating or you can convert to $HBD for a guaranteed return (currently 15%).
Friday Follows
I shall feature people who are going to Hivefest. I would expect that many of them will be posting about it, so you can follow them to see what you missed.
- @lordbutterfly has been organising this event. He did a fun promotional video.
- @arcange is going by motorbike from France and @primersion is cycling from Austria. I expect they both have some mountains to get over and hope the weather is good for them.
- @zirochka and @nataliabuchynska are coming from Ukraine.
- @apshamilton and @brianoflondon are regulars from Israel.
- @vsc.network will be there to talk about smart contracts.
- There will be people from @splinterlands @threespeak, @liotes and InLeo.
Let me know if you are going and I will look out for you. One of the reasons to attend is to talk to people about their projects and get their views on where Hive is going.

I will skip the negativity of The Dog House this week as I am in a good mood for Hivefest. I shall be packing my bags over the weekend. It looks like it could rain, but it will be fairly warm. I want to go running and may get a swim.

It seems like THEMARKYMARK is dealing with some personal drama and mental issues, which might be causing them to spam us and others with baby pics, GIFs, and questionable content he's been doing the same for years. The fun doesn't stop there, as this seems to be a recurring theme with multiple online personas. The real question is, do we want to trust these drama-magnets with our hard-earned funds or any significant influence on Hive?
On Hive a significant issue exists with automatic upvotes consistently rewarding the same individuals day in and day out

It seems like THEMARKYMARK is dealing with some personal drama and mental issues, which might be causing them to spam us and others with baby pics, GIFs, and questionable content he's been doing the same for years. The fun doesn't stop there, as this seems to be a recurring theme with multiple online personas. The real question is, do we want to trust these drama-magnets with our hard-earned funds or any significant influence on Hive?
