The News
I expect confidence in Hive got a little boost over the last week or so as the price crept up. It does matter as some people need that extra income. I will not be powering down, but my vote gained value. I keep hoping the gap to the 'legacy' coin will widen as that has no real value, but people keep trading it. I know some are really milking it, so perhaps they are propping it up somehow.
@hivesql and @hivebuzz are back. @arcange managed to get his server operational again and then it took a while to get the latest data. This is a lesson how hard it is to maintain an online service. Any server is likely to get attacked.
Friday Follows
I am publicising drummers today. I started a community for that and so want to get more on board.
- @giampaolo19 from Rome has been here for a while. He is a professional drummer who shares videos from his studio.
- @richardrums was brought to Hive by the Vibes music contest. He already has some cool videos up that are getting good votes. I think he needs to claim his rewards.
- @wilddrumss has also been on Hive for a while and lots of cover songs with great energy.
- Representing the ladies is @oripenalver who is in an all female rock band.
These people get a share of the post rewards.
The Dog House
We always have to be vigilant for fake accounts. When searching for Brits I found one of a young lady who did not appear to be in London as claimed. I saw a comment from @godfish pointing out that she did not look as old as she claimed and that there were other accounts with almost identical text on their first posts. Note that the year or age is wrong on some of these and they have the same typo of 'Blockhain'. I images may well be taken from other sites.
One my reply I got this mildly threatening reply:
I suspect that some miscreant is upset that their cunning scheme has been uncovered. There are people who welcome new Hivers and they will notice this sort of duplication. I suspect we will see more of this and they may use 'AI' tools to try and generate more varied posts. Be wary before you start giving them big votes. People need to prove themselves here.

I really hope to see Hive keep growing and that will be good for the price. We need real active people adding value. Get involved with projects and promote this platform, then we all benefit. Selfish acts tend to not pay off. The Hive community is powerful and will protect itself. Your participation is appreciated.

I have been so busy here that the voting thing is not something I taken time to work through. Of course currently my voting power is not the best so it only makes sense to give 100%. My main problem though is that for me I need a way to show I like a post in addition to commenting on it, maybe a leftover from the various like buttons from early social media days. So since only way to indicate that is vote I end up using it and then get confused on what percentages mean and end up just giving 100%. Even on comments.
If you know of any post which speaks of suggested practices for voting it would help me a lot. I may check in the Terminal server too if someone has already put together something for it.
I wouldn't worry too much about spreading your votes. They are not worth much for now, so do lots of small ones
I so much believe strongly that it is time for the hive token to keep going up in price value
All these fake accounts lead back to one person. They know their way around Hive abusing auto votes who either don't expect abusers to go so low or don't care who they upvote.
I'm sure they will be dealt with. Fake engagement tends to get noticed.
