Morning Run: parkrun 157 at Henlow Bridge Lakes

@steevc just finished a 5.01km run, that lasted for 28 minutes.

Description from Strava:
I did not do a parkrun last month as the local one was not on due to being too wet. It was back last week, but then I was away in Wales, so this was my first in a while. I was expecting that it would still be muddy so I wore my trail shoes.
It was a cool, but dry morning as I jogged up there. As I walked around the course to the start I could see it was slippery in places. There was a good turnout and our run director Alan was celebrating his 90th birthday. He and his wife Jackie are there every week helping out. One guy was marking his 200th different parkrun location.
Just after the first bend we hit the real mud. There are a few patches where it does not dry out over the winter, but it is not that bad. Sometimes the landowners dump some wood chippings in there. There were some fresh ones in other places. The anglers who use the lakes need to get their trolleys of gear around the paths.
I gave it what I could and managed to keep going. As is often the case I ended up being on my own for most of the run with the odd person coming past. One was a lady who is a similar age to me, but she has been a top club runner in her time. I finished in just under 28 minutes and I am happy with that. I recently went up an age category and finished first in the new one.
I was not too mucky from all the mud. There was cake at the finish for Alan's birthday, so I grabbed a slice on my way to a friend's place for a coffee. It is good to be back at parkrun and I hope to do lots more this year. I may not quite get to 200, but I will do more volunteering anyway.
