Morning Run: Damp again

Description from Strava:
I was at our pub music session last night where we had plenty of people including a percussionist. I am hoping we can build it up a bit this year.
After a couple of fairly dry days it was damp out again this morning. I did not sleep great, but wanted to run anyway. I was watching some videos about running for us older folk and they recommended talking on some 'fuel' before running. I have tended to just drink some water before a morning run, but maybe this was holding me back. I had a couple of dates this time as we have plenty of those.
As the schools are off this week I thought I would do a different route that would otherwise be busy. The road to the bypass is quite exposed so I was getting a bit cold and wet along there, but I am used to that. This road only opened a few years ago, but it gives me a route to Etonbury Woods. Over there it was a little muddy with some big puddles, but not too bad really. Then you climb a bit of a hill towards Stotfold.
I did think of running out to Stotfold, but with the conditions I decided to just head back to Arlesey. I was just not feeling like doing a longer run. I did stretch it out a little with some loops around side streets. The new estate near the railway is coming along so I will be able to run through there fairly soon.
I had to dry my hair when I got back before breakfast and a shower.
My podcasts today were Linux Matters, Somewhere On Earth and No Guitar Is Safe. I listen to most at 1.5x speed so I get through more, but if there is music then I use the original speed or it sounds wrong.
The weather is due to warm up a little as we get to the weekend. I do not mind the cold too much, but it may make us feel better.

Oh wow, that's a cool pedestrian bridge. I wish we had paths like that closer to where I live. It has been miserable here lately. Rainy and foggy, like early spring without the warmer temperatures.
That gives the kids a shortcut to school and another route for me. My kids went to that school years ago before the bridge and the old underpass for the main road gets flooded sometimes. We've seen a few changes around here and now there will be a lot more houses.
That is cool. I bet it is a lot nicer if not busier due to the population increase. I'd prefer more green areas than houses, but some of the newer neighborhoods really know how to take advantage of both.
We don't much in the way of shops or other amenities, but maybe that will change with more people around. A fair few people will move here due to the train station to get to London. Houses gets cheaper as you move out from there, but prices are going up here.
My wife and I visited a really nice neighborhood when we were in Denver a few years ago. It had walking paths that connected each area of the neighborhood with a big lake and river running through the whole thing. Plus a disc golf course. It was pretty cool. Not exactly close to a lot of amenities, but they were on the outskirts still surrounding it. Definitely walkable if you were in decent shape.
We still have countryside around here with some cycle paths. No disc golf though :(
