Morning Run: Cold run, interrupted

@steevc just finished a 6.03km run, that lasted for 37 minutes.
This run helped steevc burn 444.0 calories.
Description from Strava:
I had thought of running yesterday, but I had a bad night and then woke up to snow! I did go for a walk and got a bit wet as the snow was melting as fast as it fell. No snow today, but it was a lot colder. Strava said -2C, feeling like -7C.
I went for an extra top layer and gloves to brave this whilst keeping an eye out for ice. I did my usual loop up the hill to Fairfield and it was not too bad, but you feel that cold air on your lungs. It felt like I was going fairly quickly, but the pace was not too special. I think I was just trying to get it done.
On the way back down my Garmin watch decided to shut down. I thought it had enough charge, but maybe the cold affected it. I decided to switch to my phone to log the distance for Move-ember, but after a while I tried powering on my watch and it was ready to resume the run so I switched back to that. It is on charge now.
It took me a while to warm up once I was home. I was watching a programme last night about Sara Cox doing her charity run for Children in Need. She did the equivalent of five marathons in five days over hilly routes. She was not a runner, so that is impressive. It makes me wonder what I could do if I applied myself to serious training. I may yet do a marathon.
My Allbirds shoes have done nearly 900km, so I ordered some new ones in the sale. They are not usually cheap, but they often have deals and you can find that certain colours are cheaper than others. I do not mind what colour they are really. I have had a few pairs of their eco shoes and they work well for me.
Run free and stay warm.

Five marathons in five days? That's nuts! That can't be good for your body.
Ultra runners do this sort of thing, but it will take a toll on anyone. Sara may still be recovering. Comedian Eddie Izzard did a charity challenge with 27 days of marathons! I am not planning on emulating that.
I love Eddie Izzard. Dressed to Kill was such a good set. I used to have it on DVD.
I wasn't sure if you would know him. We've seen him live a few times.
Lucky!
Hiya Steve! Just came across your post and followed you on Strava!
I still feel like a runner wannabe, but it's nice to see other fellow "stravers" 😋
But running is my go-to therapy now :)
We all have to start somewhere. When I started running a few years back I couldn't do much. We have a fair few Stravans/Stravers here. Some use @strava2hive. That gives small rewards for activity depending on how much you do. It's just an easy way to create a post
Enjoy your running.

I also just found out about it through your post and have already followed the account to check it out! I started running a few months ago, and on the first day I could only run 5 minutes straight lol Now I'm on my way to the 5km! very proud of my progress, no matter the pace :)
Early morning is cold like crap here too now, not - 2 but 4 yesterday, I bloody hate it
I have to layer up when it's this cold. It doesn't get much colder here generally.

That sky looks amazing.
It was clear and very cold. From that point you can see for miles. I could see a water tower that must be about 4 miles away.
