Morning Run: Heart, attack!

@steevc just finished a 5.41km run, that lasted for 34 minutes.
This run helped steevc burn 440.0 calories.

Description from Strava:
Do not worry, I am fine. The title references my Garmin having some sort of glitch where it shows my pulse going up above 210bpm. That was on the way back when I was taking it easy. I have not noticed that happening before.

I was doing some intervals up the local hill today. Those were fairly good and I hit 5min/km at times on those. That is quick for me and these sessions may help my speed generally.

There was a forecast of thunderstorms today, but that has not materialised yet. It had rained overnight a little, but it was drying up as I went out.

A house up the road is being re-rendered with some sort of tiles being put on first. I had not seen the bare bricks of this place before.

I picked some blackberries and blackcurrants last night so I could add them to my breakfast. There are plenty of places around here where you can pick blackberries, but I do not want those brambles taking over the garden. They grow really quickly. We are getting a good crop of potatoes though and the tomatoes should be ripe fairly soon. Those need some sunshine.

Run free and live well.

Sounds like a really good run! Glad you're okay even with your Garmin acting funny. Hitting those fast times on the hills is awesome, and fresh berries for breakfast sounds like the perfect reward. Hope you get some sun for those tomatoes

I used a phone app before that would show crazy speeds at times. The Garmin is better generally.

Yikes, that is scary! At least it was just a glitch! I'm glad that you are doing okay. My walk/run this morning went much better than Tuesday. My legs didn't ache quite so much.

My heart ought to be healthy, but I hear of guys my age having issues. I've been aching generally this week and I'm not really sure why. It didn't stop me running.

Yeah, it's weird how some people can seem so healthy and then they end up having an attack or something. It's scary.

I think some have a heart fault without realising it. Our bodies are so complex that it's amazing they work as well as they do. If you heart even stops for a few seconds you are in trouble.

Yes, that is true. My boss runs a mile every day and he just had to have his heart worked on. It broke his streak that he has had going for close to a decade. My niece had a heart condition that they only found because of covid. They were able to easily fix it, but many times it goes undiagnosed and kids die from it.

5 min/km is quite the speed! I'm averaging 1 min more above, turtle mode 😁

My normal speed is a little slower as I can't go that fast for long. I was going uphill though.

I'm pacing a 32 minute 5k at parkrun on Saturday. That is an easy pace for me.

Blackberries are so expensive, that's great that you can have them for free and organic! Your breakfast looks very healthy and tasty!

I have to come up with titles and that's what popped into my head. The comma was a clue it was not serious.

LOL, you got me! But I'm glad you're fine and Garmin just couldn't handle your action! It did teh same to my Bro in law when we were hiking and started throwing up from the lung! LOL Garmin will have you questioning yourself!

Sorry to scare you. My heart seems to be fine and I'll keep running. Apps are supposed to be getting smarter so they should know when the numbers look wrong.

Adding fresh fruits into your breakfast not only improves the taste, but also increases the nutritional value ;)
