@steevc just finished a 10.06km run, that lasted for 62 minutes.
This run helped steevc burn 737.0 calories.

Description from Strava:
After getting soaked at parkrun yesterday it did dry up later and I got some work done around the garden. It actually got quite warm out there. This morning there was a threat of rain, but I thought I would risk it. It has been a while since I did a longer run. I did my regular Sunday loop that I can extend in various places.

To start with my legs were feeling pretty sluggish, but it got better as I went on. I was feeling some moisture in the air, but the rain held off until I was nearly back in Arlesey.

As I came out of one of the underpasses I saw the remains of a child's pushchair (I think). I am sure someone was upset when that broke, but some toys just do not last. My parents still have a tricycle and trolley of wooden blocks that I played with many years ago.

I saw a couple of other runners out there. As I was heading back to Arlesey there was a young lad running in front of me. He kept looking back and then he stopped. I assumed he was looking at me, but then he came past with another lad, so I guess he was waiting for his friend. I do not generally see younger runners like these around here on their own. We get some running with parents at parkrun.

I diverted across the fields by the allotments to stretch the distance out and it came to almost exactly 10km by the time I got home. I did have to run past the house for a little bit to make it tick over.

I need to do more runs like this for my endurance. I used to run further than this most weekends, so I need to get back into it. I will be drumming later today at a band practice, so that is a different exercise.

Run free!

Wow, good distance. It's a long time I don't run that long. I'm basically doing 3 to 5kms daily except weekends. Congrats!

I think that mixing up various types of workouts is essential for complete fitness and makes it more fun.

Hah I know what you mean starting off I feel a bit slow. But after getting that blood pumping for a few minutes my muscles know what they need to do.

Be careful running around in the wet weather.. dont slip

It always takes me a while to get going, but that start of the run is my warm-up. It wasn't particularly slippery out there, but I'm always cautious as a fall can really mess you up.
