@steevc just finished a 5.06km run, that lasted for 32 minutes.
This run helped steevc burn 436.0 calories.

Description from Strava:
The longest day of the year will probably be the hottest. I know it gets hotter elsewhere, but it depends on what you are used to. It was certainly more than warm enough for running today. I saw a lot more people with water bottles at the start.

I am due to be pace running next week with a target of 32 minutes so I thought I would rehearse that. I found an app for my Garmin watch where you can set a distance and time. Then it will show if you are over or under the right pace. It works fairly well, but there is some lag between changing pace and seeing the new value. That is inevitable as it needs to check over some distance.

This is slower than even my normal gentle pace, so I did have to concentrate on slowing down a bit. At least I was not getting too hot. The course has a lot of shade that was very welcome. We even had some kids near the finish with water pistols to damp us down a little. I just found that I kept wandering off the right pace and ended up needing to speed up at the end. I did get pretty close to the target though. I think I should be fine next week.

You see a different group of runners at that pace. Everyone does their own thing and some will walk at times. The lead runners came past when I had done just over 2km so they were not taking it easy.

I had not taken a drink, but I got a coffee at the cafe afterwards where we could sit in the shade. Then I had a gentle jog home. I will be taking it easy today, but I did drag our some slabs to hold down the base of our garden parasol. I will be in the pool later.

Enjoy your day. Stay well and run free.

I think I've said that I'll celebrate 100k. I may get there next year.

It is good how varying speeds highlight distinct groups of runners; it must have been motivating to see those lead runners zoom past.
