Elon's Companies Are Struggling Will He Succeed?
CEO RESIGNATION
We begin with the biggest news of the week: Linda Yaccarino has announced her resignation as CEO of X (formerly Twitter), after two years at the company.
And although her post was polite and full of gratitude toward Musk, the reality appears to be more complex and less… idyllic.
Just one day earlier, the Grok chatbot by xAI—which has now merged with X—caused an uproar after making antisemitic comments and references to Hitler while responding to posts about the floods in Texas. The backlash was swift, with users and media accusing X of a complete lack of oversight. The combination of these events quickly turned attention toward Musk and how he is handling the major strategic shift of X, which is currently valued at $33 billion, while xAI stands at $80 billion.
Musk responded publicly to Yaccarino’s resignation by thanking her for her service but did not go into further details. What’s certain is that X is at a critical turning point, and mistakes... aren’t easily forgiven. The public now awaits answers, and the next move will be crucial.
GROK
Despite Grok’s controversial moment, it didn’t stop xAI from unveiling Grok 4, the most powerful version of the model to date. Musk introduced it live at a highly anticipated event, emphasizing that it’s "better than PhD-level at every subject, no exceptions."
Grok 4 is multimodal, meaning it can process images, answer questions, perform logical reasoning much faster, and now features enhanced voice interaction capabilities.
The xAI team highlighted that this new version includes a significantly improved user interface aimed at enhancing the overall user experience. At the same time, its ability to understand complex queries has been substantially boosted, bringing Grok one step closer to the “artificial general intelligence” Musk envisions.
The next bit of news brought smiles to Tesla fans. Musk announced that Grok is coming to Tesla vehicles. And not “someday”—but very soon. As he stated on X: "Grok is coming to Tesla vehicles very soon. Next week at the latest." This integration is expected to transform Tesla’s infotainment system and take voice interaction to a new level.
ROBOTAXI & TESLA SEMI
Speaking of Tesla , we can’t skip over the Robotaxi project. Elon confirmed that after launching a pilot program in Austin, Texas with about a dozen vehicles and a safety monitor onboard, the company is now preparing to expand service to a larger area of Austin. And that’s not all. When asked about the San Francisco area, he said it’s “a matter of regulatory approval, but likely within one to two months.” This means Tesla is closer than ever to revolutionizing urban transportation.
Meanwhile, ArcBest announced the successful completion of a three-week pilot program testing a Tesla Semi electric truck under real-world conditions.
The truck covered 4,494 km (2,793 miles), with an average efficiency of 1.55 kWh per mile. It even managed to climb the challenging Donner Pass, proving it can directly compete with diesel trucks. Drivers were thrilled with its comfort and features, such as the centrally positioned seat, excellent visibility, and ergonomic control layout.
However, there was one clear takeaway: in order for the Tesla Semi to be widely adopted, a major expansion of the charging network is essential. The company stated that the test results confirm the need for further research and development—but also highlighted the strong potential of the vehicle.
