We don't live to buy, We buy to live.

Recently, I have visited a textile related expo in New Delhi. It was a good experince knowing about the different textile noches and how the consumer demands is shifting towards fashion than being utility oriented products. It was a good platform for the manufacture and exporter to find the possible buyers. All major textile organizations and brands from around the world were represented in the event. The expo talks about all the basics to finished manufacturing product related to textile, yarns, or other related stuff. My main takeaway from the expo was knowing how the people preference are rapidly changing. The people are more glamour and fashion oriented than being content with fulfilling the basic requirement.

People don't buy for logical reasons

I remember the time, when people used to buy things which were useful for them and they know the utility of the products. Those were the time when people were not ready to spend an extra penny on useless products. Be it clothing, food, entertainment or many other things. The taste of the nation has been changing, which is is a good sign for the economy, as consumer spending stimulates production and economic growth. However, how does it affect the individual growth? People are getting extravagant with the change of time. Peoole are owning stuffs which are not required for longer time. To share an example: my cousin is owning one of the expensive mobile handset Samsung s24 ultra. He is not a photographer, neither he has any special use caee. He has a limited day to day usage. Still opted for a high range phone just to flaunt them in the society. Showing off has been a trend setter that is killing the consumer pockets. Being extravagant is good when you are putting them in good case but doing that just for the sake of selfishness is a nonsense act. (this is my assummption). At same time I feel it is the rich who happen to flaunt more fashion than an average humans.

Be selective be smart.

I have always been content with my purchases. Belonging from a middle class family, I never had the liberty to spend on the useless stuffs. I prefer to be more of a smart buyer than bei g carried away with the shopping spree on useless product. I alwsys, analyze the usage, check out the various option and then finalize my product. I need to be sure of the purpose of buying the product. There is nonsense of buying product just for the sake of owning and flaunting. Taking an example from personal life, I can afford to buy a four wheelers at any given moment. But I never felt the actual use of it. Even during my office days. My companies were taking care of it by provising cabs and also the public transport are available at ease. So owning a four wheeler to flaunt in society is not my cuppa.

Make smart move...know your limits.

When it comes to spending money, making a smart and sensible choice is best things to do. As I talked about the exponin the begining, there were many companies showcasing their products. The products were of all price group, but none of them were worth the prices. I met a clothing business person in the expo and he shared me some I sight about the clothing business. Being a businessman he himself confessed that the product offered in the expo were too cheap and were not worth the price. Still the manufacturere were selling them as those fashion and style is in demand. And people are ready to pay for it. He showed me many products and alwsys surprises me with the price he quotes for each of them.

This made me to wonder that, it is the fault of the customers who were carrying away in process of living a glamourus lifestyle. Time has changed a lot and people are more fashion oriented. Thisnis where the big business houses were making a hig hole but the consumers were unable to intercept them. They buy things for a day or too and then again went to buy new products. Those are affording are good but that sends out a wrong message for those who were content with their choices.

Time is changing, society is changing, and so does the people lifestyle. It is more of a show time at the world stage and the producer are raking mullahs with their fashion inputs. Gone are the days, consumers used to be God, now it is the fashion which speaks louder.

There is no doubt that trend matters for people in today's era. People buy expensive mobiles and clothes to show off. Even if they are not of their use

This topic speaks more about me but that was my old lifestyle. I use to be a careless extravagant spender..it's annoying why I couldn't utilise my money back then on relevant things, who knows I should be reaping from a cool investment but fashion and trend took over me. Today, when I pick those expensive clothes I bought then, they are out of fashion. I believe we don't need to spend large inorder to live a quality lifestyle

I know many people who have hell loads of stuff in their wardrobe, and keeping them useless than making use of it....they just buy things for every occasion or events and that's it...Once it is used, it remain useless untill pit into best use again...People needs to adjust with their condition than flaunting stuffs unnecessary

Not only your cousin, generally the world is losing value for durability. We only buying what we see trending whether we need it or not.

We need to see the usage first then spend accordingly that what make a good consumerism.

Those were the time when people were not ready to spend an extra penny on useless products.

That's true but today's condition is totally different. People spend money for passion and show-off. Buying an iPhone is the best example of this.

U own one...right 😜 I think owning gadgets as per the requirement is mlre sensible things...I phone is worth if you make use of it..like their camera or any software...for some specific purpose...just careying expensive phone means careying cash...and if something happened then you lose everything.
