The river's magic runs deep.
The whole world is trying to privide clean drinking water to their people. The water treatment sector has done some tremendous growth in recent years. I have seen many industry comes up assuring clean water to all peoole. However, there are many peoole who are not bothered about the cleanliness and just rely on the water available for their consumption. I lived last few days among such people and find them as normal lifestyle ever exist on the planet.
Recently, I spent few days in a remote place in middle of colliery surrounded by forest. In the middle of it, there is a river flowing which is the main source of water for them. Before proceeding further, it should ve noted that. River water are considered cleanest source of water. River water can appear clean due to its natural self-purification processes, including physical, chemical, and biological mechanisms that filter out pollutants.
Last few days, I was on this river multiple times. From washing cloth to bathing to brushing teeth to cleaning your back. This river is the line of the local peoole. Being a colliery field, there are lack of boring facility around. Peoole unable to find water even after drilling 100 meter bore well. This made them to depend on the natural water supply. Peoole reached the river side as early as possible. They brush their teeth, they relive themselves around the riverside bushes. They take bath in this very water, and even they use to gargle after cleaning teeth. Call them unhygienic or improper way of living. They have been habitual and now switching back to modern way is quite complicated. People are not much educated yet they knew, that water they are using are clean enough for all such usage.
This is interesting to understand that, the continuous flow of water dilutes pollutants, reducing their concentration. As water flows, larger particles settle to the bottom, and smaller particles are carried downstream. Bacteria and other microorganisms consume organic matter and pollutants, converting them into less harmful substances. Plants in and around rivers absorb nutrients and filter pollutants from the water. There are Mukti level process that keeps around the river that makes the water clean for all the usage. I was amazed to see peoole easily taking them into their mouth for cleansing. I am sure nobody would like to try after watching people bathing and washing nearby. Yet this is a common practices. I even tried once but was not OK doing it. The life style of these people are different, they use "datun" (tweek) of plant for brushing. They take a piece of it walk down the river , chew the tweek, brush their teeth and then cleanse theory mouth with the flowing water.
It was the life existing outside the normal course of people life. Another instance that caught my instance was the availability of water borne snakes. I was bathing and found a big snake flowing next to me. It was scary for me but normal for local. For them those snakes are not poisonous. I came out of tge water on seeing the snake, while the other guy was bathing as nothing happen. I was enjoying all these moment and at the same time thinking about the life that exist far away from such set up, where people not able to prefer taking tap water into their mouth directly. They need clean water as much as possible. I am pleased to live and experince such life. Honestly peoole spend on expensive adventure tour but living into these circumstances is itself a new excursion. I simply enjoyed the green magical life I lived in last few days.
In good faith - Peace!!

yeah, I wouldn't be able to do the snakes for sure! That's a great big nope for me. What happens to the people further down the river? We have some pretty polluted rivers near where I live.
The snake part was honestly terrifying 😅 but it really gives you a impression of how the people there have adapted to nature with love and peace.
This was really interesting to read. Life near the river sounds so simple but also very different. It’s amazing how people use the same water for everything. I don’t think I could do it, especially with snakes around! But it’s nice to see how they live close to nature.
