Slaying deadlines and making dreams happen.
Before getting into the corporate world, there was a time in my career, when I used to fully occupied for most hours of the day. I used to work 9-5 job at a manufacturing unit and post my working hours, I used to give private coaching to young kids from.6-9. I was enjoying those times a lot, as I like giving private tuitions. It had dual benefits, while I was getting some additional source of income, simultaneously, I was making use of the spare time in more productive way. I was not a party goers at that time, so utilising my time in best way was my motto. I was quite successful in handling both of my job and getting good return in terms of money and time. It was a good case of multiple careers going hand in hand. While I made use of my skill at the manufacturing unit, at the same time, I was enjoying my passion for private coaching. But things changed once I made way to corporate world, as I unable to take out time for my part time jobs.

Multiple careers can be pursued for many reasons. It involve having two or more careers at the same time. It is done either to make money or to pursue some passion. For example, someone might work as a cafe owner Monday through Wednesday and a yoga teacher Thursday through Saturday. Or utilising spare time in doing part time jobs. In my case, I was involved in part time and pursuing my passion. There is one more scenario of multiple career, which involve taking on a new career after working in another for some time. Like a professor taking over a consultancy job or an engineer taking over marketing job. It depends whatever interest them.

There was various factors that made me to stop pursuing my coaching passion. What looks lucrative may have many drawback. Having multiple careers can have following disadvantages:
Managing multiple careers requires excellent time management skills to stay organized and make time for social and self care.
It can be difficult to produce high-quality work while managing multiple jobs.
Job hopping can limit opportunities for promotions and raises because it takes time to build relationships with colleagues and managers in a new job.
*Too much stress can negatively affect job performance, increase medical costs, and decrease productivity.
It can also cause fatigue and shorter attention spans, which can lead to accidents and injuries in the workplace.
Working multiple jobs can leave little time for a personal life, which can strain relationships and lead to isolation and unhappiness.
Legal or Illegal
Many of the companies are not in favor of supporting dual employment. They always expects complete dedication from their emplyees towards rhe organisational goals. Having a dual emplyment can cause serious threat. But not in case when such things were done on part time basis to pursue the passion. A accountant at a company van be a good financial advisor too and he/she can pursue it outside the scope of employment.
Some say that having multiple careers can help people pursue their passions, diversify their income, and develop diverse skill sets. For example, people who transition between different fields can gain exposure to different industries, job functions, and work environments. Others say that humans are born with more than one ability, and that pursuing multiple careers allows those abilities to reach their full potential.
Here are some tips for juggling multiple careers:
- Separate your jobs.
- Take breaks between jobs.
- Get approval from your primary boss before taking on a second job.
- Find a part time job that you enjoy or that allows you to learn new skill.

You've clearly stated both the and and disadvantages of having a dual career, now it's left for the individual to choose what best work well for them as some might be able to handle multiple task while others can't.
Interesting approach. At one time I had several jobs, although they were all self-employed, I worked non-stop all day long, not setting my own limit, I was very tired, exhausted and had no time for my family. You have to find the right balance.
