Simple yet stunning in metallic - Old Iron hooks

At times when people were focussing on installing designer and laminated door for their houses, there was an era when people simply relies on door made up of wooden planks and fitted with Iron hooks and locks. They used to be very strong and provide enough safety. I knew this as I have seen such door in my village home with the heavy Iron metal still intact in them. The wooden planks were still heavy to lift. They were fixed to the wall with the help of Iron hooks. The internal locks were made up of heavy Iron piece that were put into a Iron rings.

The above metal piece represent the "hook" which were fixed into the iron rings fixed on the wall. The system.is such that for repairing purpose you can easily remove them.from the wall socket.

This one is the long piece of iron that were used for locking. They were placed at the internal side and have a iron ring on the other planks. Just close the door slide this iron piece into the iron ring on the other planks, and you are safe. The iron piece is hesvy enough to easily been cut or broken.

These hooks and rings were nailed very hard on the heavy wooden planks. Even wondering of removing them give a tough task to accomplish. These door were very simply yet very strong and tough.

The use of iron in old wooden doors served both practical and aesthetic purposes, enhancing the door's functionality, security. Although the old door were replaced now, but the iron piece has not yet rusted. They still appear fresh. Old metals are quite tough to be broken. They ensure much security than door available in current times. They were vintage for a reason.
