Searching for solace in the stillness.
My country is unique in many aspect. Rich in culture and heritage. While many people know about the urban part of the country, very fee are aware of the rural part. Once you get into the rural section, you will get to experince many unique things. Infact many ancient tradition are still rooted to the rural part. The experince of rural life is not only new to any outsider but infact for also who have been part of it. Especially when it comes to ghosts and soul. These days, we have soul stories going around in my village, which has becomes a talk of all tye villagers. Isn't it strange talking about ghost and soul in the 21st century?
Many people would assume it to be just another tale to tell. But for rural people such things is not new. For them soul do exist and they can be seen or felt in any form. Even I didn't belive in it but the way the stories unfolds do make me to belive in it. The recent stories going around in my village is about my own cousin who died unexpectdly last month :
my cousin who is a dedicated farmer by profession is a nature lover and always roam around the jungle every morning. Last year he had an argument with a family next to his home. Few days, ago one lady who venture out to jungle to collect woods, started behaving awkwardly. She started to talk like my cousin. She even stated that the lady who had the argument was responsible for his death as he did some witch hunting. When offered with tea with alcohal, she denied saying he left drinking. When offered tea, he refused too. All this and many more things, untill She came back to her normal self.
Noone would've believed this story, but the way things unfolded and the personal stuffs lead people to belive. Village communities often have a rich tradition of storytelling, which can include narratives about the soul and spiritual beliefs. This is partly due to the close-knit nature of village life, where stories are passed down through generations as a form of entertainment, education, and cultural preservation. Many village cultures have a strong belief in the supernatural and spiritual realms, which can be reflected in their soul stories. These stories may explore concepts like reincarnation, karma, or the existence of spirits, and they can be used to explain unexplained events or offer guidance on life's challenge.
If these development were narrated to any new person, they won't going to belive in straight way. Village people's belief in souls. The belief that spirits inhabit all things, including plants, animals, and even inanimate objects. The concept of the soul is often intertwined with notions of reincarnation and the afterlife, where souls may return to live in new forms or continue their journey in another realm.
Soulfully sarcastic
The question of whether souls exist is a complex one, with no definitive scientific or religious answer. It is a matter of faith and belief, with varying interpretations across different cultures and belief systems. While many people believe in the existence of a non-physical entity, like a soul, there is no scientific evidence to prove or disprove it. But for the record, many cultures, particularly those with traditions rooted in Hinduism or Buddhism, believe the soul remains on Earth for about 40 days. During this time, the soul is believed to be in a transitional state, potentially revisiting familiar places and completing unfinished business.
For urban people, such events may be just another stories. But for a villager, they are the way to live with the dead man.
In good faith - Peace!!

We have the same beliefs that is why we offer prayers since the death until 40 days to help the soul ascended to heaven.
Then, on the 40th there is small celebration.
In countryside side here, there are also many tradions and practices. Yep, also about witch thing. Even I living in modern era now had that % of believes it's true
Indeed, we almost have the same belief too.

Perhaps it's the mystery, the fear or the idea that there's something more beyond this life--- but whatever it is, these stories sticks witj us and make us wonder about the world we can't see.
Do you have any personal experience? Me, I have. GOOD THING is I just know how to manage my fear🙏
