Music is good for our soul. So… Rock on!

Music has always been a powerful tool for expression and can improve our mood, health, and relationships. It happens many a times that I put on my head phone and lost into the rhythemic world. Music is very essential for our well being. Music can make us feel better by triggering the release of dopamine, a "feel-good" neurotransmitter in the brain, which can evoke positive emotions, improve mood, and even reduce stress. Listening to music can directly evoke emotions like happiness, sadness, or nostalgia, depending on the melody and rhythm.

I think that need for Music has directly related with the human well being. As I said, during time of sadness to Happiness, the beats of Music alwsys surrounds us. Depending on the tempo and style of music, it can either energize or relax us, allowing us to connect with emotions and memories associated with specific songs. Music can influence our heart rate and breathing, contributing to a sense of well-being.

I think many of us have our own Playlist saved in our Music player. Be it, mobile, ipod or wherever we prefer to listen. With the widespread availability of music streaming services and portable devices, people can easily access their preferred music anytime, anywhere. People create playlists of their favorite songs because it allows them to easily access and listen to the music that brings them the most joy, evokes strong emotions, or is associated with specific memories. It is like curating a personalized soundtrack for different moods or activities, all in one convenient place. Many a times the playlist chamges with eveey nee songs but there has alwsys been one particular playlist that gives us a soothing feeling.

Listening to our favorite music can have many benefits :

  • Music can make us feel happier and more energized. It releases dopamine, which is known as the "feel-good" hormone.

  • Music can help us relax and reduce stress hormones like adrenaline and cortisol.

  • Music can help us fall asleep faster and sleep more deeply.

  • Music can help us remember what we have learned, especially if we are studying.

  • Music can help relieve feelings of anxiety and depression.

  • Music can make exercise easier and boost our energy.

  • Music can help us pay attention and improve your mental performance.

  • Music can trigger memories from past experiences, which can be beneficial for people with dementia or Alzheimer's disease.

  • Music can help keep our brain engaged as we age.

Certain songs can instantly bring back vivid memories, creating a strong personal connection to the music.

There are few songs from 70's & 80's which alwsys make me feel relaxed. Our brain actively engages with the music we love, making it a stimulating experience even with repeated listens. We never get bored with certain music's. Listening to your favorite music rarely makes you bored because it triggers positive emotions, creates a personal connection, and stimulates the brain in a familiar way, often associated with happy memories, which can override the feeling of monotony that usually leads to boredom.

In my personal opinion, all of us must listen to music. Be it devotional, upbeat or other form. The most impactful music is the one that resonates with you personally. Choose music that fits the situation, whether you need to focus, relax, or get energized. For more targeted benefits, consider music therapy with a trained professional.

In good faith - Peace!!

Music has always been a huge part of my life. I remember when I graduated from high school my dad wanted to buy me something special. I had a choice between a computer and a radio. I actually picked the radio!

Music is a wonderful form of art that resonates to many people and a someone that loves music, I even explore songs from other countries. One of my recent discovery was the band Bloodywood and it really fascinates me how they incorporate the use of Dhol in their songs.
