Just been Saved ! [Beware of Social media]

These days, people tend to blindly believe information shared on social media. Social media platforms allow for rapid and widespread sharing of information, which can make it seem more legitimate and trustworthy. The ease of sharing and reposting content can create a "confirmation bias" where people are more likely to believe information that aligns with their existing beliefs, even if it's inaccurate. The rapid and casual nature of social media communication can make it difficult for individuals to engage in critical thinking and assess the validity of information. But the question still persist, Can we blindly trust with the words of social media ?

Recently, I came across a video, that tells people about wearing "silver kada" whicg can help improve their luck and bring fortune.

A "kada" is a rigid bracelet, typically made of gold, silver, or steel, worn on the wrist.

Many Indian belive in astrology, and getting these luck changing tips, makes them greedy. Wearing, silver is part of the astrology. Generally it strengthen the moon place in the horoscope chart. The way the video was getting viral, anybody could get mislaid and start wearing silver ornaments. Who does now want to get lucky and improve their status in the society. Even I was impressed and soon started enquiring about the silver ornaments for myself. I was more eager to invest in silver such ornament just add to my silver portfolio. I even went to the local shop to see some sample of these kada (ornaments). Some of them were beautifully designed and looks attractive. I tried and those silverware were looks good on my hand. But at the same I was doubtful about the authentication of such claim made on the online video. As I never heard such tips before. Infact I even consulted few astrologer and noone suggested me to wear silverware.

People are very fond of getting their stars better to get benefit in their life. From gemstone, to wearing diamond to these silverware. There are all kind of faith and beliefs prevalent in the Indian society. Even many rich people follow many astrologer tips for their wealth and fortune.

I had consulted some experinced astrologer before and he gave some advices but never asked me to buy any ornament. This made me to enquire more about the claim made on the social media video. On searching various internet links. It was learnt that wearing silverware is not fruitful for everyone. We cannot put such ornament blindly, as it may bring bad luck and bad health too. This made me to wonder, how people blindly trust any message delivered on the social media. They not even authenticate or verify the claims.

We have already seen how social media information adds fuel to arson or strike and agitation. These days, there were many online #podcast on astrology and horoscope. These content creator know what people like to listen. Pressing on their weakness, they bring content that makes people to belive on their so called information. Many new faces comes up on social media with their thoughts and motivational words to inspire new generation. But I belive these anchor and so called preacher or speaker are sharing information without any head and tail to their topic. They wanted to increase the userbase and popularity on the social media platform. If I had ended up following such news, and my eagerness to invest on silver, I might spoil my luck or life.

The rapid dissemination of information, the perceived anonymity of online platforms, the prevalence of confirmation bias, the lack of critical thinking skills, and the trust in online sources all contribute to the tendency to blindly believe information on social media. It's crucial to be aware of these factors and to develop critical thinking skills in order to discern reliable information from misinformation.

We need to verify the claims and stay alert from getting mislaid with all these information. We cannot go by every words on social media and get fooled.
